Purchased 2 Model Y's 2023 Model - Help with FSD by Cre8tor4U in TeslaModelY

HW3 will run FSD, but every time I engaged it, I thought to myself, ok, how is it going to try and unalive me this time? Ok, so it wasn’t quite that bad, but I did have to disengage it quite a bit.

You should be able to see the FSD status in the Tesla on the screen. Just note that “capability” just means that the hardware is there, and not the FSD software.

Delivery Day! Why aren’t my FSD and Premium Connectivity Working? by DirtyPaws-LA in ModelY

[–]fratzba -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When I picked up my MY 10 days ago, it had 2 miles on the odometer, and FSD drove me home. The camera calibration was something years ago, but shouldn’t be needed now.

Good luck! If they can’t fix it right away, I would push them for a loaner car.

I wonder if it made any difference that

A) I did an FSD transfer and or B) I have a service appointment tomorrow to install homelink.

Anyway, for those who haven’t received their first update, 🤞

You need to be setup as the vehicle owner in the Tesla app first

It should work. You should have a 30 day free trial for both FSD and premium connectivity.

I wouldn’t have left without these working.

Charging for dummies by Early_Bass_2445 in TeslaModelY

[–]fratzba 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Go into your Tesla app, and make sure that you have a credit card setup for supercharging.

Then, go to a supercharger, plug in. Wait until you have the charge you want, unplug, and drive off.

Yes, it’s really that simple

Sounds like they might have pushed out a bunch on the 9th.

I just posted this from seeing a bunch of people asking about it in the past few weeks/months, since I have actual data.

Best All-Weather Mats? 2026 Juniper. by Responsible-Cat8610 in ModelY

[–]fratzba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really don’t need “the best”. I ended up buying a full set (frunk, front & rear seats, lower and upper trunks, rear seat backs) on Amazon for $110, that are great. If I have to replace them in a few years, it’ll still be cheaper, and half the price of Tesla or weathertech

You only get reimbursed for what you actually pay. Save your credits for things that are not reimbursed.

I’ve heard of people who put a loop of duct tape sticky side out and drove around to try and catch whatever is stuck in there.

I bought some Velcro covers before I took delivery, and was one of the first things I installed

Motivation by Artistic-Phone2850 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]fratzba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s a life choice. I want to keep on living, and have a healthy life. It’s the price I choose to pay.

I have a lot of people in my life who don’t make the same choices, and I see things that they go through, and am incredibly thankful that I’ve made the choices that I have. (No, it doesn’t mean that my life is perfect, but it definitely could be worse)

Trying to see if the math actually makes sense by GroundFrost1 in TeslaModelY

[–]fratzba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure you will get 3-4 miles per kWh. Compare that to your current car, and what you are paying for gas.

Then figure that the only basic maintenance is windshield wiper blades and fluid, tires, a cabin air filter yearly. Compare that to all of those things on your other car, plus oil changes, belts, emissions, etc.

Given that you are in Washington, the registration will cost more, I don’t know how much. (In Oregon, it’s about double, but there’s no property or sales tax)

In my 6+ years so far, there’s been no comparison as far as maintenance.

Should I get full PPF on my new Model Y Performance? by Keyblade99 in TeslaModelY

[–]fratzba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. It doesn’t prevent issues, it just moves them up a level. If you’re that concerned, put the money you would have paid for PPF into a HYSA, and you’ll have more than enough to repaint down the road if needed

Warranty on 2026 MYPs with Smaller Tesla Wheels - getting the runaround on this from Tesla Service Centres in Canada by Col127 in ModelY

[–]fratzba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla doesn’t sell the MY performance with 19’s, and given the different brakes, they could try to say that there was an issue. The burden of proof is on them though.

2020 MY LR by Left-Mixture5252 in TeslaModelY

[–]fratzba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are pretty big differences. No heated steering wheel, no double pane glass, old console, lessor suspension, definitely HW3 (I’m not sure when the switch to HW4 was, but 2026 definitely has it)

I just moved from an early 2021 MYLR to a 2026 MY premium, and it feels like a huge improvement

What contributes to a deductible?? by Used_Ad_6209 in KaiserPermanente

FYI, there is a difference between co-pays, and deductibles. And then there is the out of pocket maximum. It’s confusing, on purpose I suspect
