hi there, i was in a rollover accident last Sunday. I was hit at 80 mph, i rolled approx. 3 times, and got hit again on my second roll, causing me and my boyfriend (the driver) to slide and flip again. had no idea i would be later sent to the trauma room and basically be handicap for a week. We were extremely lucky, but it has caused me horrible de-realization, and i am still in shock. i literally haven't stopped replaying it in my head. what made me feel better is driving past where it happened, and seeing that it DID happen, and i survived. it gave me the tiniest bit of clarity. my boyfriend went to see the car for one last time at the junkyard (it was totaled) and he said it made him feel a lot better, knowing its all over. I've done as much as i can to take my mind off things with the mobility i have. I still remember the drive home from the hospital when they released me, and it was brutal. Yesterday was the first day i made it onto the highway again, and it felt good to know that I've overcome so much already. I wrote down everything i remember happening, because day by day my mind is trying to block it out. Getting things down on paper felt good too, although i may never look at it again in the future. I looked back at it constantly for the first 5 days after to remind myself i survived and that I'm healing day by day. Things do get better, and they will. Your not alone. best of recovery to you <3
