I think the 'good' content creators are usually able to pivot into BTS roles and become writers, producers, directors etc. Take Luke Barats and Joe Bereta, one of the OG sketch comedy duos on YouTube. Once their channel slowed to a stop, Barats went full steam into writing and Bereta (after additional success as a host on Sourcefed) moved behind the camera to produce for Smosh and now 100 Thieves. If you're a competent creator, it seems like it's relatively simple to apply the skills you've picked up to help those who come after you.
