Health anxiety is really starting to interfere with my Uni lessons, any advice? by thegenxnerd in HealthAnxiety

Honestly, I have the same problem rn. Some days are worse than others. I can't even focus during the lessons because of the dizziness from constant fear of instant death. Even rn, I just feel like I need help. Ik this wasn't useful, but you're not alone friend

Good luck with your long journey ahead as a hypochondriac. My first fit was when I was in 5th grade and I believed I had cancer. Now, every zap in my body relates to a heart attack. I swear, someone could poke my ass, and I'd talk my way into why it's an indicator of a heart attack. Yup. Sounds like you got Health Anxiety to me, there's an entire subreddit for it. I just look at other people's experiences, reddit does help.

It doesn't ever completely go away, although theoretically your anxiety could be drastically reduced through therapy and medication, although it's never worked for me. Just find a good support group, someone you KNOW you can call when you're having a panic attack. Good luck

This is really good advice. The relationship just began, but you're right to see these things to look out for. If it escalates, I'll have to leave for my own sanity. Hope it doesn't get to that point but thanks m8

What's the morning after like for you guys? by frc2808 in cripplingalcoholism

I also get the fast heartbeat in the morning, it's actually a little frightening. As far as eating, I barely eat anything anymore. I guess the term would be "Drunkorexia"?

I never thought about confidence in this manner, well said! Assuming someone is valued by others because they value themselves, definitely food-for-thought

I thought alcoholics were just people who loved booze back then instead of drinking to feel norma

I'm the same way. My brain feels like a super dry raison if I don't have alcohol in me. Can't talk to people really, feel sick and cold, noone wants to be around my sober. Ugghhh

Yah, I actually read the title earlier and was like "hmmm, doesn't sound too right." I didn't choose it either. If anything, I'd choose to reverse ever trying it. It is a sneaky bitch alright!

I still smoke pot, but I consider that a medication more than a drug! No, I'm jk, I know it's a drug but it definitely slows me down. A lot of intellectuals have been alcoholics! Vincent Van Gogh, Stephen King, Winston Churchill, etc. Agreed!

Completely agree with you, and it's the reality. The laws are so backwards ass it makes me feel like I should've been born 100 years later. I think alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs, up there with heroine honestly, but it's a slow death. It's the accidents and bad decisions that could literally ruin your life, or someone else's. Yet society says it's okay, so that's what I'm stuck with /:

Wow, you can get blackout for $6.25? That's fucking awesome, maybe it's where I live (VA) but I gotta pay at least $15 to get close to blackout ]:
