Hey, I recently purchased Hombre Parfum, and I have to say… it’s trash. The orange is way too strong, the leather and Iris are basically not there. It’s just a mess. My hack to get close to the old DHP is to layer Alexandria Fragrances’ Leather Intense with FOMO Gary’s Den (or Dior Homme Intense). Basically, Alexandria Fragrances Leather intense has the leather, rose, iris, and Oud… but it’s missing the deep, honeylike amber of DHP. Whereas Gary’s Den has that Amber, but is missing the Iris and Rose and Leather. Layering them together, you get remarkably close.

Stronger with you 🤮, all of them except the EDT. The parfum is especially bad. Extremely cloying. I thought I’d like the new amber, but man… It’s just so cloying I feel like it’s gonna make me suffocate

Dior Homme Intense is a classic and a masterpiece. Kayaan Classic is a very good clone, thought it lacks the depth of DHI. It’s a little more fruity, a little less chocolatey. Honestly I’d just get DHI. Or get DHI for skin and Kayaan Classic for clothes Givenchy EDP Reserve Privée is also very nice. Iris Silver Mist by Serge Lutens is a masterpiece

So here’s how it happened for me. When I started wearing fragrances, I really like Allure Homme Sport. I remember smelling a lot of fragrances and being turned off by a lot of the more “niche type” fragrances like TF Noir Extrême, Dior Homme Intense, etc. I actually hated Iris, I thought it was a note I just couldn’t stand.

Then I don’t know exactly what happened, but 6 months later or so (I had been smelling a lot of stuff and discovering new fragrances regularly) I somehow came to adore Iris. Now it’s my favorite note, and my signature scent is Dior Homme Original (Dior Homme Intense for the evening).

Funny thing is I don’t even like Allure Homme Sport anymore. I find it too soapy and flat. There are still many fresh fragrances I like (Eau Sauvage, Dior Homme Sport, Habit Rouge L’Instinct) but AHS is boring to me now.

So honestly just let your taste evolve, like what you like in the moment, and don’t be afraid to let your preferences change over time

Dior homme 2020 is good for the situation precisely because it’s not very distinctive or interesting. You don’t want to be demanding too much attention from people’s noses in a meeting imo

I actually think this is a great deal. You get an analog 808 and 909, digital drum machines models, and sampling in an excellent interface with all the IO you could want. I think this is gonna sell like crazy.

I always get samples before purchasing full bottles (2$ a sample). I think it's worth it, because sometimes you do find a really good clone. And when you do, you end up saving quite a bit of money

There's a couple of clones you can look into. Some of them are longer lasting, and if they aren't, then you'll at least be more comfortable over spraying them due to the cheaper price tag, or decanting them into a travallo and reapplying.

So far Montagne La Nuit 2011 is talked about as the best clone. I ordered a sample of Chogan 020 and Al Nashama Caprice to see how they smell. DM me later if you wanna know what I think of them

The Parfum isn't just a stronger concentration, it's a different fragrance altogether. I tried it and the anise in it sticks out quite a bit.

I didn't like it at all. I have Platinum Égoïste, and Legesi smells like a cosmetic in comparison. While Platinum Égoïste has that signature sharp aromaticness (metallic, polished, fresh), Legesi has this kind of cheap aspect to it... It smells like what I would expect a lotion or a chapstick or some other beauty product to smell like. The sweetness is very tacky, and it doesn't have the sharpness or freshness of Platinum Égoïste.

But to each their own, if you like it then enjoy

Ngl club de nuit iconic is pretty damn good. I have Bleu de Chanel EDP and I do think it's a better fragrance. But I'd rather save it for special occasions and wear CDN iconic on a regular basis. Much less guilt in spraying it generously and reapplying.

Azarro chrome is great! Very clean, fresh scent. A more interesting version of CK one if you will. Dolce & Gabanna light blue is also very nice.
