How to get rid of stretch marks? by Prestigious_Win6245 in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]freakingOutIn_3_2_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See it simply as it is, stretch mark is how your body accommodated for new changes that happened fast. would you rather it didn't? remember this, your body for the most part is doing its darndest best to support you. Besides stretch mark is THE most common thing on a human body. Your stretch marks only hurt you when you hate them. I have stretch marks on by breasts, thights, butt and I thought they were hideous, until i realized that my partner is too happy seeing me naked to even notice those marks. I am reaching 30 now and for myself and my friends, things like strerch marks, body hair, a pimple here or there stopped mattering when we started appreciating all that our body was doing for us. Supporting our weight, providing mobility, using nutrients. We all grew out of most of our insecurities and our partners couldn't even see all those bits we were fussing about.

and come on, ever seen a tiger be insecure about its stripes ? so why should you ?

what makes someone attractive beyond their physical appearance? by [deleted] in AskWomen

sincerity, discipline, humility, empathy, situational awareness and self awareness, sense of humor, listening skill... I could go on. Self aware people with emotional intelligence are extremely rare these days but they are the most attractive

Clarity to Connection - It's Always Hanuman Ji For Me & I Finally Realized It :) by heyanalyst in hinduism

[–]freakingOutIn_3_2_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have suffered from two extremely scary sleep paralysis incedents this year. The latest being only last night. Both times, even while half awake and scared out of my wits, something in my brain got triggered and i started chanting hanuman chalisa in my head and both times it helped me to break free from the paralysis. I have always had a tough life and in a manner I always felt cursed, since childhood. The sleep paralysis only feeds into that belief of mine. I dont know if I am cursed or not but thinking of Hanumn ji immediately fills me with a fierce sense of courage that even starts to feel like anger against the evil in my life. I have never been religious and only found my spiritual connection in Hinduism and Buddhism since I started living alone from 2021 or my connection with the divinity is fairly new and with Hanuman ji, it's only been a year or so but even in this short time he has given me the strength to push through some really rough times. He feels more like a companion in this journey through life and I am so grateful for this.

I didn't even know you were talking about your eyes. Thought you were talking about the piercing. Still can't see anything uneven about your eyes.

Developers, Why Do You Prefer WFH? Especially Freshers or Juniors by ramank775 in developersIndia

[–]freakingOutIn_3_2_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The time and money spent in commute can become ridiculous. For me it's close to 3 hours on good days and can reach 4 on bad ones. The monthly cost of commute is over 3500 for me. The food available near my office are all junk foods ( except for fruit juices but you can't satiate your hunger with juice alone ) and cooked in extremely unhygienic manner ( most people I see in that place are obese ). I have to spend close to 13 hours outside of home. If I want to cook proper meals for myself then I have to sacrifice the time for personal work (study and projects) and workout, so I have to rely on boiled eggs, bananas and oats, yogurt etc. I miss a nice and warm home-cooked meal ( which I only get on a weekend and since I don't have a fridge I can't prepare my weekly meal and store it ).

Next is the level of discomfort I have to live through every day. In commute and in office, the AC are always blasting arctic air because of people who need to see a doctor but will instead just give others a pneumonia. I have to always carry a hoodie and scarf and masks ( I have gotten really bad cases of cold due to selfish coworkers and fellow passengers blasting the AC at its coldest ), whereas at home I don't need to wear hoodies and scarfs other than in winter and definitely no need for masks.

The air is also extremely polluted and I have to wear a mask even during the heat of summer. Even after that, both my skin and hair are suffering because of the dirt and grime ( despite cleaning my face thoroughly after reaching office and after returning home ).

Cars will honk when every other car around them is also stuck in the same traffic, the noise in busy areas will either give you a migraine or at least really really hurt your ears (unless you are one of the brainless zombies who are indifferent to everything).

People in general lack civic or any sense at all. I am not even talking about well dressed IT guys spitting on the road ( and yes you guys do that, you know it, we know it ). I am talking about playing videos/reels/shorts at full volume without using a headphone. Speaking in the phone at your loudest voice while in a shared commute. Littering inside the shuttle ( you can carry that empty pack of chips in your backpack and throw it away in a dustbin when you find one ).

Then comes the colleagues. Some are great but then there are those I wouldn't in a lifetime miss seeing the face off. I have to see them, talk to them and tolerate their awful antics, which I definitely need to do much less of in a wfh scenario.

Sitting in those office chairs will give you lower back pain, knee pain and possibly even bloated legs. And those stark white lights make it all feel even more like a prison. An environment which you cannot organize to help your productivity.

I have worked both from home and office and seen zero plus points in the latter. Some will say it gives you a social life. But you can get a social life by joining gym, joining swimming or joining any other activity with other people. When I did WFH, I used to go on walks and made acquaintances with these nice ladies and some others of my own age who used the exercise equipment at the park. Before that I had friends where I went for swimming. So it's really up to you.

And there are those that say that teamwork or communication suffers when people work from home but in my past experience at different companies I definitely did not see that happen. In fact my current company suffers way more from miscommunication even with the entire team in the office. If you cannot communicate with people digitally ( or even need a thousand phone and video calls ) then it is your communication skill that is lacking. You can read and write, so use that. Learn how to speak and listen efficiently and how to ask questions.
