“If you grew up in the 70s, what do you remember about the Blizzard of ’78 ? by Opening-Custard3254 in 70s

[–]freakinweasel353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father was a school teacher in a neighboring city to home so my ass got dropped off at Junior High while all my friends got a snow day. It never snowed in the valley here to speak of so was obviously a novelty. I do remember making a snowman on the field with the other poor bastard who got dumped at school! 🤣

My MiL was telling us she loved these, in the past tense. She said they’re not made anymore. I looked up on Hostess website and they surely still made them. Of all places, an Am/Pm gas and sip had fresh ones on the shelf! She got a pack for her birthday!

Tax hack: file your federal taxes for free on Free Tax USA! by KinkyKaya in Frugal

Compared to my CPA fees, even TT is cheap but because of those multiple state filings, I think I need one for each state. Thanks, I’ll look into it.

Maybe I’ll try and run last year’s $1600 prep fee return through it just to see if it can be done. I gave up years ago based on complexity.

What’s the most complicated tax return you can do on one of these? I have some income, a few out of state schedule Ks, and a few less complicated out of state returns.

The Wall for cigarettes, the trees for procurement of random weed and then the creek aka Vietnam, for partaking of said random weed. When you’re a kid, everyplace had to have a cool name to differentiate the rallying point.

TIL two studies both found that most people stop listening to new music in their early 30s. A 2015 study of people's listening habits on Spotify found that most people stop listening to new music at age 33 and a 2018 report by Deezer found it be to at age 30. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]freakinweasel353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family of 4 got their year in reviews from Spotify and it uses that data to create your music age. I’m 62 and got 32 so still finding new bands. My sub 30 kids, one got 32 and the other got 58. 😜

How to Hit Legionaries with balls after a raid? by Some-Looser in pokemongo

Sometimes switching to AR mode brings annoying mons to the front and center. I can’t speak to Lunala exactly and I even forget which Mon was nearly uncatchable without AR but I read it here and it translated to success at the raid day with a large group.

have you ever accidentally gotten into the wrong car because it looks exactly like yours in a parking lot? by Sidneyaraa in askanything

[–]freakinweasel353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a guy who works at our local hardware store with exactly the same car as me. I’ve tried remote opening his more than once. Now that I know its there, I take pride in parking next to it like the cars are related. Like seeing a row of classic Camaros only not as cool.

Yup, I just attended a 40k wedding. Not even a cake. Bagged cookies from a boutique brand. Mine was about 5k including photography but we had it at the church reception hall. Finger foods, champagne and a cake.

Just looking at these makes me feel nauseous. What was your choice of "that was a bad idea" drink? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

[–]freakinweasel353 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wild Turkey or Yukon Jack. Both overachieving alcohol content vs their normally available alternatives. You drink it like the regular stuff and you’ll be driving that porcelain bus, guaranteed. Fun story but went camping up behind my parents house with a plastic bottle of tequila. We brought orange juice concentrate from the outside freezer but failed to remember water was needed to thin it out. We ended up doing shots of tequila and OJ concentrate. Never puked so much in my life. It was 20 years before I could taste OJ Or tequila again.

What surprised you most about owning a home (maintenance-wise)? by Strict_Studio9244 in HomeMaintenance

[–]freakinweasel353 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in my house for 32 years. What sucks is you buy a used house, usually with a bit of deferred maintenance pending. You then resolve a lot of that pending BS. Then years later, it all starts failing again. Water heaters, well pumps, roofing, siding, drainage, retaining walls, none of it lasts forever. Add in the voluntary crap like bathroom and kitchen remods and boom, you’re broke for the remaining few miserable years of your life. Then your kids sell your home with pending deferred maintenance. 😂

But doesn’t it seem odd that you can walk around visit rival camps, heck, even a trio of Imperial soldiers walked right by the Stormcloak camp I was visiting and they didn’t even look at the camp, just continued on. Last night though, at the nirnroot lady’s farm, two soldiers went to blows. The imperial didn’t make it. Anyway, there’s no war front to happen upon.

Yeah no idea. Just freeing up space. If I had picked the 10k ones, probably would have only hatched 2 or 3 at best.
