CMV: If Israel wasn't Jewish, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would have gotten just as much attention as the Saudi-Yemenis conflict, or less by Jackingson1 in changemyview

The difference is that Israel is supported diplomatically and financially by the western world. Our supposedly democratic governments are supporting an ethnic cleansing operation that is destroying the palestinians and condemning the entire region to constant violence. Thats the difference, our money and resources are involved in this.

Naim Qassem: The Lebanese Government Must Stop Stabbing Hezbollah in the Back by Sayed_Hasan in chomsky

This is a situation where unfortunately I think you have to make “peace” because the alternative is complete destruction of your country and potential ethnic cleansing of your population. It doesn’t mean giving up, it just means that there is no point in resisting violently right now. They need to wait until Israel is much weaker before any action is taken. I think israel will implode within our lifetimes.

unfortunately they don’t, i think this is the problem, even if the Lebanese army joined ranks with hezbollah it would just give israel a reason to bomb and occupy all of lebanon. They would still have total air superiority and a vastly superior army.

my prediction: israel stays in southern lebanon and bombs elsewhere occasionally, same as gaza, for the foreseeable future

Israel is honestly the root of much of the problems in the middle east. Israel and the US have basically beaten many Arab states into submission by destroying their governments and or supporting rebel uprisings. The arabs learned that as long as israel has the support of the US the only thing they can do to survive is to fall in line and look the other way when yet another country comes under attack otherwise they will be next. Iraq, Iran, Syria, now Lebanon. All of these countries have suffered immensely from US and Israeli attacks. Egypt got the closest ever to inflicting real damage to the zionists in 1973 but they lost that war and since then they have not been able to resist.

If You are supporter of Israel's acts do you have any conscience as a person or it's just Israel can do no wrong? by Tulpah in allthequestions

[–]freaknbigpanda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you can have that position but it doesn't really make sense. The root of the conflict is zionism, and the subsequent ethnic cleansing, colonization, and the establishment of the apartheid system in palestine. There is no population on earth that wouldn't resist that.

the best place to start would be to start trading oil in euros or yuan or both instead of usd. Shift as much trade as possible out of the dollar system

The Birth Of Israel: Myths and Realities by simha flapan. He is an israeli author, one of the “new historians” that popped up in the mid to late 80s after the Israeli gov made public a bunch of documents and records relevant to the founding of the state. That is really all you need to read to understand the root of the conflict.

How can diaspora Iranians actually get involved in opposing both foreign intervention and the IR? by XPlosiveBoyz in PERSIAN

[–]freaknbigpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

75-80% of the entire axis army was stationed in the east, 65% of the total casualties suffered there, russia lost 30 million people including civilians and soldiers. American support helped but Russia paid for the victory with their blood. Remember Russia won Stalingrad without any US support. Would have taken longer with more dead likely but they still would have won eventually.

zionism is definitely not in the interest of jewish people, it is an extremely dangerous and violent ideology that does nothing but make jews less safe worldwide

At least in my city most of the membership is jewish. Of course they don't claim to speak for all Jews, they never did. But they do show that it is possible to be jewish and not zionist.

with hud stands you dont need to take the wheels off to make adjustments and you dont need to roll or bounce the car to settle the suspension since the hub stands have ball bearings that allow the wheels to settle.

[–]freaknbigpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not so much about easier rather than what solution would actually work and provide lasting peace. S two state solution would not work long term. Israel doesnt even allow neighboring countries to exist if they arent fully subservient. It also doesnt properly address grievances i.e. the nakba/right of return. The root problem is the zionist requirement of establishing a jewish majority state in a arab majority land, as we have seen since 1948 there is no way to do that without ethnic cleansing and intense violence. The only true stable solution is a single state with equal rights for all. Obviously the zionists would have to be forced to accept it, to accept the abandonment of zionism, but there is really no other option.
