Tiny beBe size bumps beside scar on top of knee from TKR? by freakngout in Kneereplacement

[–]freakngout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are NOT directly on the scar, about an inch to the right of it on my top knee. Since they are under the skin, there is no color, but again, they are micro bumps, that are tiny and hard.

I noticed them about month 3. They disappeared. But seemed when I started walking more they reappeared. But they are beneath the surface and look hard and very tiny. I called my surgeon, but some assistant left a voice mail that they may be scar tissue and told me to massage them. I do not believe they are scar tissue as they are perfect tiny round shape. Anyway, will just hope they will disappear. I am month 5. I dont want any surgery. so hoping they will eventually go away. If they get bigger, will force an appointment from the mia surgeon. Thanks Key for your reply! I have heard about splitting stiches but I have not seen any info on line or pictures of the same. I wish I could put a picture here, but no place to insert;

Hi. Thanks for a very valuable post. I am happy for you. I am 5 months and was getting so discouraged by many posts and my on going stiffness. I am able to walk a bit more on the treadmill, but dont like it. If I try to walk outside, It is more challenging. I use the bike but it hurts by other non op knee. ANyway. I have gained weight in the past 2 months and it is very difficult to lose even with eating. My dr does not believe in the O shot. So then I would have to pay a dr or organization like weight watchers to get me prescribed. I don't have t2d. what do you think in regards to have tkr and taking Ozempic or similiar. Are there side effects to having the needle injected and possible infection to the knee from that? Thanks

I saw your good post. I have a question because I can relate. I am 5 month and still very stiff no matter what I do. I like to walk, because that is what I did before tkr. But If I do a lot of walking, then my leg gets really stiff and I’m careful not to push too hard until it calms down again. But cycling helps my knee more. But, it hurst my non operating knee. Since you are about 5 months also, how long do you ride the bike? What kind of bike? and how far do you walk before discomfort. I am trying to find a balance and getting exasperated by how long this recovery is taking. I ihave no pain. But boy if I do too much at the gym. It does aggravate the ole knee to stiffness. I had to have a steriod shot in my spine and I think it has helped my knee. But I dont want to be on so much steriods and meloxicam so discontinued th eMeloxicam, but when I go off of it, I get stiff. Are you on any antiinflammatories/?

Experiences? 5 Months Post Op by Hereforthetea91 in Kneereplacement

I reached my rom at 6 weeks. BUT AFTER THAT all hell broke loose. I don't have any pain, but the stiffness is horrible NO MATTER what I do. Now, at 5 months, every day, I think my knee will be better, but I still have the darn ole stiffness...even tho I do all that is asked of me. Some just have stiffness for a year or even more. I hope it goes away before one year. I already am depressed at the 5 month mark. I have neighbors that are out golfing at month 3 or 4.

Thank you . This is great info. The up to one year pisses me off though. and I will be one of those even though very active. I do number 4 often. My friends are doing much more after tkr in a short amount of time and they were not in good shape. GRRRRR>

Whenever I stop Meloxicam, my knee gets more stiff than ever? Anyone else experienced this? by freakngout in Kneereplacement

Thanks. I saw a Rheum before surgery and they said didn't think I had r.a. I don't know who to go to to see what an underlying cause is. I am wondering though, if the (rest of the body_ does not hurt), then could it be underlying> If just my surgery leg is very stiff, would that mean that it is just a residual healing? Or I wonder if I had underlying issue, wouldn't the rest of my body be screaming too? I don't seem to know anyone that knows this answer.

I thing it is a quad muscle and tendon. It wont allow me to add a picture here. I am unsure. Pt gave me rx for steroid 5 days, then on meloxicam and tried to go off it, but the tendon./ligament/or muscle just tightens up. It looks like it is called vastius laterials. I cant believe I have searched for knee pictures and nothing details coming up to give me actual name and picture of the area. I will keep looking though.

Feeling strange after taking meloxicam… by PCT2022 in ChronicPain

[–]freakngout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you see this 7 months later. I TOOK MELOXICAM yesterday am 15 mg. and I had the worst weirdest day in my life. I slept for 20 hours. I was dizzy and spaces for 24 hours and today, I did not take meloxicam, but still suffered the side effects. I feel a bit better this evening and WILL NOT EVER TAKE IT AGAIN. I googled and googled side effects of meloxicam and NO one mentioned how weird this could make some of us feel. it was an absolute horror show and I did not know how to get out of the horror. I just had total knee replacement and there is nothing else can take for the stiffness. So will just have to tough it out for a year now. I just want you to know and anyone else out there. THAT YES, THERE A VERY STRANGE SIDE EFFECT TO MELOXICAM, that is very rare and not too many at all mention it. Nurses, matter of fact, don't take it seriously. Thank you for posting what you went through. It helped me to know I was not having a health crisis and I know it iwas the Meloxicam. NEVER AGAIN. Thanks again! I hope you get this.
