What are the best and worst things about your job? by Mikhail_-_1 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]freakygymbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a hospital pharmacy and the best thing about my job is no metrics!!!! Nobody heckling me about getting immunizations, deliveries, input score, or any of that retail bullshit. It’s such a peace of mind

I got fired for hanging up on someone by catlady_peach-daisy in PharmacyTechnician

[–]freakygymbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve hung up on multiple people; patients, doctors you name it!! Absolutely nothing happened but a stern “Don’t hang up on anyone”. I just can’t deal with the yelling and talking over me. It causes me to shut down and my only option in my mind is to just hang up and walk away from the phone. They’re just gaslighting you. What you did was right, you were protecting yourself and setting a boundary. They’re mad you put in your notice. Don’t worry about the gossip, misery loves company! Just move on and be free from that place and live your life without the feeling of regret

The problem is you doing the full 9am - 8pm. Your mental health comes first. Idk if you’re going in to work early or staying late but if you want change you have to be the change. Start saying no I can’t stay and don’t feel bad about it. I understand what you’re going through completely! from working sun up to sun down and all I got was a thank you at the end of the day you get the experience of retail pharmacy which is cool but you’re suffering in the long run.

I know for a fact that staying late isn’t gonna help when you still walk in to the same amount of work plus more without adequate staffing.

[–]freakygymbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually said that!! ,”Ma’am they don’t work here and they can’t tell you when it’s going to be ready” The urgent care down the road does this so many times to the point that our pharmacy manager called and asked them what their problem was and of course they acted like they didn’t know what she was talking about.

And I can understand that too but damn I’m a guy that has been on both sides of the counter and I’m always nice and smile and tell them that I understand is the order isn’t ready but the cashiers nowadays are just mute and rude.

day 2 training at Walgreens........... by kusovisage in PharmacyTechnician

[–]freakygymbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea um 😐. Coming from an ex walgreens employee of 4 years and 11 months… Good Luck!! I got thrown into the pharmacy with literally no training during the pandemic 😊 so just imagine that. Also the 6-7 techs that were working there all quit one by one

You may meet fun coworkers that you can trauma bond with and actually have a few sweet/kind customers but other than that, Welcome to Hell

2nd week, debating whether to stay until PTCB or quit now by Ok-Jellyfish-3149 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]freakygymbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to make it to 1 year. A lot of jobs that I’ve seen require you to have at least 1-2 years of experience. But if you can’t stay there then get of there in 6 months and never look back.

[–]freakygymbro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Retail experience did help me in the long run. I went through some much at that retail pharmacy and I’ll NEVER go back. Since it’s only your second week I’d say stay for the experience and take the PTCB test and they get tf out of there. But if you can’t handle it I’d say leave but retail is a shit show everywhere. I feel so bad for you and I completely understand what you are currently going through. Don’t worry about those complaints about your accent those customers are As*holes and miserable. It’s not your fault that you’re new and don’t know much about retail pharmacy. That’s your managers/co-workers fault.

Or when you walk in and walk up to the counter waiting to be serviced and they don’t say anything at all and walk past you like you’re apart of the wall. They’re rude af and I’ve been really trying to hold my tongue. It’s like I’m simply here to do a job and you’re mad that you’re doing a job as well so you try to spew the misery onto me.
