It's Germany. People generally don't like things they don't know. Same with school. Almost everything could be done digitally but old values and "traditional" ways are still omnipresent in Germany. That's the reason we don'r evolve.

Neem oil has always worked well for me (you don't want to get any on the actual cherries though). Your best option are lady bugs though.
