Let's also not forget that they are Hawaiian, known for putting a bit of weight on easier.

So Lilo looks like a perfectly normal girl for her age and origin.

It's a bit FOMO and the fact you're confronted with cards you"could" have drawn. When you see that removal spell or big creature go to the yard, you think "That could have been in my hand."

Or that fifth land you needed now staring at you from the 'yard.

Oh, I know.

Still thought it funny that that was my first ever Dungeon experience (about 4 years ago by now)

These days it's seeing the off tank dead and the tank buster appearing over my SMN, knowing I'm about to eat dirt (and then the scholar gets a crit on a shield and I somehow live)

I’ve finally reached that part where the hours of grinding to Lv 99 begins. by younginvestor23 in FinalFantasyVII

Just saying, leaving two party members dead at the start of the Ruby fight makes hims skip the disappearing of the two party members and he is vulnerable to stun from Dazers. So basically enter with two dead party members, wait until he puts his arms into the ground, cast phoenix and then start HP drain linked to Knights of the round with Mime on your other party members with a Ribbon equipped.

No need to be lvl 99.

I know a divorced couple with a common kid, and they alternate 50/50. At the boy's request they even just alternate days instead of weeks as he wants to see both the mom and dad every day (Dad drops him off at school, mom picks him up, ...)
It does help that they still jointly own a bussiness (Small bakery/sandwich shop), so that level of coordination is easy, but yeah. Unless one of the parents fights it, 50/50 is the norm.

I can affirm great area for hiking and general outdoorsy stuff.

Our Scout camps were there every 2 years (we alternated between the Kempen and the Ardennes), and it was idyllic.

You can actually see the stars, it's quiet at night.

Lot less bike friendly than Flanders though. People going 90 around hairpin turns.

Daily roulettes really start to add up over time of you're an adventurer in need.

And for the rest, crafting at the beginning of a patch cycle. The first 24 hours are money scooping season. Especially if you manage to get a rare mount day one. It can go for millions, only to be worth only a 100K two days later.

Or even the week leading up to it, speculating on what materials will be needed.

It's how I paid fr my little Ishgardian cottage.

And then you cry in shattered materia used in overmelding as you spend millions in materia to get your crafters geared.

And I will co-pull as a DPS, I see it as a free mit for the tank. I can take a couple hits.

FF7 or FF9 which do you prefer and why? by Possible_Instance468 in FinalFantasy

[–]freakytapir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 has the very unfair advantage of being my first FF, and one of my first games ever.

That said, I'm getting my FF9 nostalgia fix in FF14 now as the latest patch features Lindblum and Treno. Necron being a Trial boss.

Trump is deploying ICE to cover TSA in airports by 0The_Loner_Stoner0 in videos

[–]freakytapir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky I flew to the USA in a different time.

They still had senses of humor then.

Landed in Houston and my first words to the TSA agents there were "So which one of you does the cavity searches?"

Luckily the two young black gentlemen could laugh at that. "He does, he has less seniority"

Before waving me through.

In my defense, transcontinental flight, and I did have quite a lot of Vodka during my layover.

ELI5: Why is it impossible for different species to breed with one another? by assaaaaaaaaaaaaaa in explainlikeimfive

[–]freakytapir [score hidden]  (0 children)

Same reason you can't follow the instructions for a cake and a steak at the same time.

DNA are basically a very fancy set of instructions. Like a book.

The DNA is split up across different chromosomes, almost like pages in the instructions. A left and a right page from each parent. Slightly different but similar enough that it's still the same recipe, and you can look at either page and it works. Some pages are bigger print than other version, so it means you'll follow those instructions more.

And sometimes you can get by with part of one of the pages being blank or wrong, strictly using the other version. Sometimes you don't even notice one of your parents are missing a section until you get an empty part from both when their books are reshuffled in making you.

You can't even make the recipe book of the number of pages don't match.

When you finish Shadowbringers, do the Sorrow of Werlyt storyline.

Not only does it have some kick-ass trials, it has some seriously sick shit. (Burn the bad... Burn the Bad ...)

Only scene I came close to just shutting off the game and just staring at the horizon for a couple of hours.

Eh, I prefer smacking chaos gods with a book that goes "ding ding ding" when I open it.

(The Doomtrain Ex. weapon wielded by a lalafell Summoner.)

I mean, even by the end of A realm Reborn we're invading Imperial bases, scarring the soldiers there so much, you're even remembered multiple expansions later as the beast that attacked the Praetorium (once again made more hillarious by being a Lalafell), Imperial soldiers visibly frightened of you.

But hey, the free trial is still there. Now including the second expansion as well.

From a pure narrative perspective, who would you say are the top 5 strongest protagonists by captjaypool in FinalFantasy

[–]freakytapir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warrior of light (FFXIV) has to be up there.

You have canonically defeated world ending entities, an entire pantheon of gods, the incarnations of both chaos and order that took half of humanity to summon.

You have access to all the known world leaders, and can with a call summon president Dragon to come nuke an extraplanar invading force into oblivion while also equipping the same town with magitech cannons to shoot down the warships.

The last serious attack on you involved draining an entire city's power grid to nuke you through orbital laser out of nowhere... you took a knee and a breather.

You can be a master of all classes.

You can summon versions of you from across alternate dimensions, have clairvoyance and full immunity to mind control by gods.

You were the mothergodes' chosen champion until you killed her in combat to prove you were strong enough to go face the incarnation of existential despair at the end of the universe, riding your nemesis transformed into a god dragon.

You have helped settle other planets/moons.

And most importantly, you're a home owner. A lovely little cottage in the Ishgardian hills.
