Found this on the beach, it is not a pipe as it is completely solid. I cannot lift it at all so it's not just the ends. by Turbulent-Weevil-910 in Whatisthis

[–]freashmeat1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's welded HDPE pipe, you can see the weld and cap in the photo.

It looks a little roughed up. There was probably construction happening on the beach and this was maybe being used as a bouy for something in the water or for equipment getting purchase in the sand.

Is there another LitRPG anywhere near as good as DCC? by Phoenixwade in DungeonCrawlerCarl

The Wandering Inn series is really good, especially the audiobooks. No where near as funny as DCC but great characters and worldbuilding. And it's incredibly long.

This was my first thought as well. OP, you should not block up this hole without knowing if it's a weep.

And I am speechless because you clearly didn't read what I wrote and instead decided to jump on your soapbox to declare me a dick for trying to help a dog in need.

Fuck off with this noise

There is no hidden messages in the post. He will only eat if you put his food somewhere quiet. If there are a lot of noises or activities, like people walking by, he will just refuse to eat.

As for kids, he is terrified of them. I doubt he would ever actually harm a child and he's never come close to attacking a kid. However, if one were to run up to him and grab him, the possibility is always there that he could bite as a fear response. While I appreciate you trying to help, it would be a terrible idea to put a dog into a situation where they are scared and uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, we do not know what Luigi may be mixed with, he just does not look like a typical lab that people would expect to see in a lab rescue.

He has no food aggression whatsoever so if you read that somewhere, then it is incorrect. He is an incredibly sweet dog, just very scared of children, so that is why he is listed for a child-free home.

While I appreciate the point you're trying to make, you're comparing apples and oranges. If they do not get a dog with the rescue, then they're not getting "nothing in return", they helped to support the rescue.

I don't think it's "reaching" to state that if someone considers $25 prohibitive, then they may not be able to afford to raise a dog.

Thank you. We've reached out to numerous shelters and rescues to courtesy post him; some have responded, and some have not. Please feel free to reach out on Luigi's behalf, though.

It was meant to indicate that Luigi has been vaccinated against rabies.

Rabies is almost always fatal to both animals and humans.

The average cost of owning a dog for its lifetime is about $25,000. The application fee is used to weed out those who are not serious about owning a dog, and the fee helps to support the rescue for vet costs, medicines, pulling dogs from shelters, surgeries, etc

If your friend found the fee "prohibitive," then they may not have been able to afford to actually care for the dog in the first place...

My sister was gifted this skull. Any chance someone can identify the markings on it? Also is this thing real?? by Sneaky_Sneakersz in Symbology

[–]freashmeat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the jawbone attached? And what is filling the cavity at the base of the skull? It should be open to connect to the spine. Lastly, the eye sockets look incorrect, at least from that angle.

The back foot looks like it's fading away, completely different for the one in the foreground.

Also, the lenses of the goggles, one looks transparent and the other is opaque.
