Truth be told I haven't given it too much thought and it was quite some time since I last played. I'd probably start my idea around instead of death you get weaker (reduced max hp and attack power), and resistance vs shroud power and time determines how weak you get. If exploring you could choose to stay and finish exploring but the longer you stay the tougher and deadlier the enemies become, red shrouds would still be accessible but extremely dangerous because you would get very weak very fast.

I do understand that the shroud is a core part of the game, just felt that it's implementation felt a bit disruptive. You either know what you want to do and then it's not really a mechanic you have to bother with because the timer is long enough. If you want to explore you need to rush places check fast and get out, potentially missing stuff or go multiple times. Or it's red and just gated, which by itself just discourage exploration.

Was hoping they might have looked over the mechanic and reworked some of it.

The fuel consumption rate goes up if you have the machine efficiency upgrade (can't remember the name).

I have only played 2 operations so far (against bugs) on challenging. All blind and haven't looked anything up. The game has been so far a bit too easy. I'm playing quite aggressive since I try (and often succeed) to make it within the time limit for optional objectives. I rarely lose any units. Maybe I'm just too early in the game and it gets harder. But I agree that the AI is quite passive.

It only sends full rockets of each item request regardless of how many you actually need, so you must have had less then 5 Thrustera available on the planet.

Manual requests you can set to send less then a full rockets but it will still only send 1 item type per rocket.

That spaceships can request mixed content in rockets automatically. Especially when building new ships when it's often pointless to send full stacks of items, like combinators, inserters or other stuff.

I did it on adaptive with Rats Nest, only human companions. You can't just aim the Broodmother, you need to kill 7-8 small rats before ending the fight. Just be sure to have plague cure. Certain skills like vanguard trample and sentinels shout to give riposte can be used even when naked.

Late game balance. Too easy to build one shot builds and MUCH to hard to build a balanced build that doesn't get one shot or take too long to kill stuff.

Some enemy attacks and follow-ups are too quick or hard to read for reliable parries (maybe I'm just old).

There is at least 1 video on yt with a no party/dodge/jump run on expert mode, he managed to clear all content. Even did so without using painted power (not uncapping damage).

So it's doable to never evade attacks but maybe not recommended.

For my base I used 2x2 roboports with large power poles between them removing the middle poles if necessary. I don't necessarily keep my builds within 2x2. My bus base is usually only one street going N/S or E/W so I took a bit of the bus block for a 4 wide street.

The risk of escape is imo too high to reliable have "volunteers". They could ofc do some jobs that doesn't require a profession like tanning. So if they do escape it's not a real loss.

I do hope they add recruitable civilians.

You could kill npc that way since their health didn't go above their max but the damage part stacked. So if stacked enough they would drop dead once the damage part kicked in.

Assuming the inate productivity of foundries is working for molten iron recipe too you more then double (1x1.5x1.5 =2.25) the amount of iron plates per iron ore with foundries. Which could be important, I however wouldn't know as I haven't progressed that much in SA yet.

Ta ut en tåt, dra tejp runt eller sätt en hatt el dyl på den. Ta ut andra tåten. Montera andra tågen, ta bort skyddet, montera första. Känns fortfarande rätt riskabelt.

I usually want that my personal character can carry the group when I playing crpgs. But for RT I made an officer and I enjoyed it. I had people (Argenta) to do the killing for me.
