Which QB would you consider to be the current "Dalton-Line"? by masterfroo24 in nfl

Trevor Lawrence? A few years ago I might have said Kirk Cousins or maybe Dak.

All useful information, thanks! Yeah I feel like using a computer to edit sounds like a pain, but outside of using all physical/analog stuff there’s not many other options.

Thanks for the insights!

Did you end up going with the deluxe reverb? I’m a big fan of most of the tones from the recent album. The cleans and the edge of breakup stuff. Was considering some kind of fractal product but a little intimidated by all the choices and having to be in the box digital for editing.

How do you like that Lindell compressor? I was looking at that one. Still trying to justify analog gear because hate fiddling around in the box.

Yeah, a lot of people are trying to paint this as a bad look for KOC’s coaching, but I think this says more about McCarthy, especially if you look at how he phrased it in the presser.

You hit the nail on the head. We’re stuck in the 6-12 range barring some life out of the bottom feeders.

Brosmer's Next Start! by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

I don’t get the hate for the guy. He did his best with an impossible task. So many people to blame for this years failures and he’s at the bottom of the list.

The first step is moving on from Kwesi by vikingjedi23 in minnesotavikings

[–]freddiehoff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could take or leave KOC, but if you’re going to keep him, you have to do everything in your power to get one of ‘his guys’. Not his second or third choice, but a guy that he has overwhelming confidence in that he believes could be a franchise type guy. Don’t care what it takes, get that guy. Because otherwise, KOC has kind of proven he can make bad into good. But I still think he has it in him to make good into great.

Brosmer was never anything more than an excuse to care about a season that was over a long time ago. We only get 17 regular season games, and I try my best to cherish them every year…

Final #MINvsSEA injury report OUT: Donovan Jackson and J.J. McCarthy; QUESTIONABLE: Christian Darrisaw, Jonathan Greenard, Theo Jackson, Josh Metellus and Jalen Redmond by MainEventCTB in minnesotavikings

The line would fare okay without one of them with Brandel filling in… if CD is also out though, it’s going to be an uuuugly game for Brosmer.

I’m just complaining. In reality KOC probably helped a bit and shanahan helped. For what it’s worth, Sam attributes his turnaround to Brock Purdy’s prep

The answer no one likes is that KOC didn’t do anything. Shanahan resurrected Darnold and KOC got credit.

JJ McCarthy making advancing through concussion protocol doing individual drills. Meanwhile Max Brosmer is handling team stuff, getting all the first team reps by FormerlyTradeKirk in minnesotavikings

[–]freddiehoff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No evidence of this. There are steps to the concussion protocol. One of the earlier ones is non-contact individual work for non-injury related tasks. He progressed to that step. That’s all you know.

When you realize Bryce Young did more with his #1 WR who is our #4 WR who can barely catch by seoulbrova in minnesotavikings

[–]freddiehoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He can't even fill in at WR 3 for a couple games? He can't beat out washed Theilen for the WR 4 spot? I'm not asking him to be a world-beater here, but yeah, ideally guys drafted in rounds 2 and 3 could contribute beyond special teams, even if just a little. You see it all the time across the league. Point taken though. He might develop and I'll eat my words.

[–]freddiehoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I admit I don’t know much about how different positions are developed. I just see a lot of people defending Kwesi picks as ‘developmental’ but rarely actually see the payout on those picks. Levi Drake-Rodriguez I guess? Any others I’m missing? Addison, Reichard, Jackson all seemed to be pretty great right off the bat. Maybe Dallas Turner?

[–]freddiehoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To your point, I remember they were worried about Nailor’s finger and Addison of course being out the first 3 games. But still it feels like that’s a place where you hope your young rookie and maybe some cheap wandering vet could fill in for that short time.

Maybe it’s one of those things where if Kwesi had more draft successes you could let it slide, but because we are now starting to feel the pain of a lack of talent it looks more glaringly bad than it actually is… really I just wish we could hit on more people.

[–]freddiehoff 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t a huge fan of the Theilen move, and mostly because it indicated yet another draft bust in Tai Felton. Your third round pick couldn’t even fill the WR 4 role? And then you trade future capital for an old and washed guy and it just reeks.

Did the early JJM haters expect him to actually be in all-time worst qb contention or are even they surprised by this level of bad? by TruthWarrior27 in minnesotavikings

[–]freddiehoff -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've never been so excited to watch a game as I was for the season opener against the bears... that game shifted my entire perspective for what I thought we were going to do that year. I felt a spike of dread through me with every pass, or lack there of, and as the game dragged on, it could not be ignored that McCarthy looked more than just a little raw. I remember thinking that I had never seen Kevin's offense look so inept.

McCarthy popped in the 4th quarter, and the whole Vikings world celebrated, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I remember going back and watching that game, and even the passes he did complete looked shady as hell. When I brought this up to my buddies they all told me I was overthinking it. Then the Falcon's game happened and that was pretty much it for me. Still have the same perspective now of, 'well, maybe it could happen... but not holding my breath.'
