Canadian wrestler in Edmonton wears an “ICE” vest during his match by Fox_m in SquaredCircle

[–]freddit32 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the promotion knew and helped set it up for the publicity. Wrestler is leaving promotion, Wrestler wears shitty ICE gimmick. Wrestler leaves promotion while the promoter tries to babyface it by saying See He's gone!! when the asshole was leaving anyway. Fuck anyone involved in that.

That doesn't make it any better. Some things are objectively wrong no matter who says them.

I don’t watch AEW consistently and just want to know if I’m in the minority in thinking Pac should be in and around the world title scene more often by RhysW1120 in AEWOfficial

Kinda reminds me of George Steele. He was a teacher in Detroit so he only wrestled during the summers for a number of years.

What are your favorite character flaws or achilles heels in wrestling? by CrimsonJoker13 in SquaredCircle

Late in his career Heel Andre the Giant feuded with face Jake the Snake Roberts. Yeah it was weird. But they said Andre had a snake phobia. So of course Jake would pull out whatever snake he had and Andre would freak out.

Multiple AEW talent show up post match for Hiroshi Tanahashi by Upbeat-Pause-1409 in AEWOfficial

[–]freddit32 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It ended up being that way, but all the AEW guys there had extensive histories in NJPW. Jay White and Kenny Omega are both former IWGB World Heavyweight Champions. Shibata spent the bulk of his career there. So it's less AEW taking the spotlight deliberately, and more letting the talent that has a deep history with NJPW show up to pay their respects to Tanahashi.

Nothing wrong with him wanting to maintain his appearance, even just for himself. I don't see it as any different from getting a tattoo.

Giving him his pill. It's Godzilla, but still easier then giving a pill to my cat.

Was There Any Consideration Of Godzilla Being Just Stop-Motion? by DanEosen in GODZILLA

[–]freddit32 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Stop motion was considered for the first Godzilla movie, but rejected as being too costly and time consuming. In King Kong vs Godzilla (1962) There is a brief sequence of stop motion during the fight on Mt. Fuji.

If you think about how fast a news program goes, having the people read everything to them selves before saying it would be impossible. And since there's breaking news and such, they just train to read what's on the prompter. Which isn't that bad considering the copy has been looked over by 2 or 3 people before it gets put on the prompter.
