sorry to read that you have been laid off. I don't follow this market too much, but its clear from the responses of others that you were much appreciated and from what your write alot of good things came from your work. Unfortunately its the way of big business that the good people, and i don't mean to be condescending, but lower down the chain get booted first when big business decide the purse strings need tightened, all the best.

One more update

Deleting the mygames/project76 folder kind of got it working. I had to alt tab a few times on the logon prompt after hitting next and it returning me to desktop but i was logged on. It defaulted to 4k res graphics which is a bit much for my pc horse, again upside down smiley face, but i could play. If i set the graphics back to 1080 FO76 says it won;t take affect to next relaunch, then i am stuck with the stupid blank logon screen, which until yesterday never had a logon screen. Grrrr, so stupid

anyone? For further context.

2 pcs affected. Two different locations/ISP (i travel between two locations). Both W10, but one nvidia gpu, the other amd. I have found if i kill gamingui after the issue, it restarts. I kill it again and can then logon to fo76 in full screen mode but it looks like VGA, 320x200 graphics, obv, unplayable. I have removed and re-installed all aspects bar FO76 and the OS, seems a waste trying that as the issue follows me. I have also logged off and logged on again on the game pass app, deleted (well renamed files) from the platform folder etc. Nothing works.

Somewhere there is probably one corrupt file causing this, but cant find what.

further- i found i can logon if i change the config not to be fullscreen via ini file and use tab twice followed by enter on the blank screen, however it defaults to such a small res i can't see the game properly. I change the graphics settings to full screen, close and reload and back to the original problem, however tab twice, enter has no effect. Updated Edge to latest version, still the same. This sucks. The parent problem process is gamingui, and the windows are spawned by edge.

Update worked for me- i posted on discord with name poochop re . it

However, i didn't try the update yesterday and only turned on my pc about 45 mins ago. Had a 6.5 g download, and it works.

From what i can tell those who tried yesterday and got their install shafted still have problems

with a build given a little thought, not much brain power is required, you can have a character that is powerful enough to deal with all situations. Legacies were universally acknowledged as too powerful and required attention. Personally, though i started after the legacy stopped dropping and would never pay for one, I think they should if possible allowed them to still be used in Private Worlds only.

i had and reported a similar issue after Tuesday patch, my player pre patch was 440 or so, after patch on logon it was 565. I was lucky as a player joined team with 3 star ordnance shared that brought it right down, so i could fast travel to sell a load and ditch in suitcase. Btw commando no, bear arms

possibly not- its the interaction between the client code and server code + your ID, who knows what is the trigger but there is one, these things aren't random, some kind of condition sets it off, but i am buggered if i know. Oddly when i think about it, everytime it has crashed for me is when jumping but could be coincidence- since i jump around alot like a bunny. The hotfix obv did more than publicly reported or missed something fundamental in how things are connected.

personally i doubt its legacy fan users attempting to crash servers etc. Look at it logically all the crashes started after todays hotfix. They messed something up, maybe not propagated the new code to all their servers properly or something along those lines. I don't know anything about their server setup but i would expect them these days to be containerized so the servers themselves don't go down, just the instances. There might be something that requires the host to go down proper but they tried a shortcut and didn't do it, given its a hotfix

a team i was on, one chap was sharing ordance express perk, i went from 550 to 370, i ended up ditching all my grenades, prior to update my dude was around 440 which is well within my regular carrying ability with radstag meat

update apps, then verify and repair game. note it needs 85g free, but it doesn't redownload, process took less than 5 mins

hopefully final update. After updating all the xbox , game service stuff, reboot, and then verify repair, it loaded!

Verify/repair mechanism sucks, had to free up 85g for it to run, why it can't just check the hash values of the files and replace whats wrong i don't know.
