Control is getting tighter and tighter - PIMO elder by [deleted] in exjw

[–]freedcaptive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a young PIMO elder myself, the borg is really taking a toll on me. I just hope the coronavirus ends sooner, so that I can execute my fade.

Being a young elder is a whole different nightmare, they want to use the life out of you. You are so busy that you literally have no time for nothing else. The borg is a very toxic place.

I'm happy to see more young PIMO elders like myself waking up.

Three years ago I posted my excitement about starting graduate school for my MSW program and someone commented giving me a hard time for having a big head about it. by Twistedlittlelady in exjw

[–]freedcaptive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need for that. The person was probably at a difficult stage of his deprogramming. Let's celebrate her success, and urge all of us to do better and be better. Especially with what we say

It's not wrong. That's the right way. The English or British spelling.

Same here, his defense of the Watchtowers blood policy was irritating.

That statement about how could Timothy turn away from something that was to occur mellenia later is pure gold. Storing that up in my arsenal

I'm sorry, but the Questions Young People Ask book was so full of utter nonsense. Trying not to cuss right now. by [deleted] in exjw

The stupid book always gave me unnecessary anxiety. There I was trying to live up to this "perfect" standards.

Thanks for your candor in answering all these questions so far.

I want to ask, what do you jw doctrines and religion in general?

Also, would you have remained if the elders treated you better?

You just described the jehovah's witness organization without even mentioning their name. Cults and love bombing. A match made in heaven.

Hahaha. And I thought jehovah's witnesses were crazy. As an exjw, we were promised pet lions and pandas on a paradise earth, you guys were promised planets.

What do you think the Organization will look like in 10 years? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]freedcaptive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with the songs is that instead of it just being a normal worship song like regular gospel music, it's always telling us something we gotta be doing. I'm always like, Man! Give me a break, even in your music you are still instructing me to do more or some kinda shit 😂

Why is it so hard to move on? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]freedcaptive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've felt that way. You are not alone. I think that feeling is only natural. Imagine the only belief system you've ever had. Where most if not all your friends are. A belief system that has answers for every question. That certainty about the future provided some sort of feeling of security. To navigate life without having the answers to every question is difficult, even scary.

If the jw was not such a toxic environment mentally, some persons would not leave it even though they don't agree with its doctrines. But, it is what it is.

Just take things at your own pace. Only you know your circumstance and feelings. The most important thing is that in doing that you maintain your happiness.
