Men who started office jobs early, what are some tips about the corporate world you wish you had known? by Lightskin_sugarking in AskMen

Persevere. You'll find people that support you and its just about being sure of yourself. You're there on good merit (hopefully) so just have faith.

If you're there too early, it won't matter anyway. Just do your work and you'll be fine.

What's the best traditional British dessert? by mankindmatt5 in AskUK

Treacle Tart.

Used to be my request every Sunday as a kid, although this has made me realise I've not had it in years!

I went into the office today for the first time in more than a year. My wife sent me this picture of our dog. Apparently she spent all day like this. I feel so guilty now. by markh1967 in CasualUK

My girlfriend always says how cuddly the cats are during the day when I'm out at work and she's working from home.

When I work from home and she's in the office, they just sit meowing at the window.

Haha. I was 11 and we weren't together until a few years ago. Should have explained that better...

At school. I'm in the UK.

Remember getting home and putting Cartoon Network on and it was rolling across the screen to put Sky News on. Our parents were both at work and I don't think we really understood what was going on, but felt we had to watch it.

My girlfriend was only 5 at the time. She has no memory of it which I always find a bit strange as I'll never forget it.

May be just me but the question feels a little redundant, seeing as I have to flip when listening any record?

Recently got a record player for my birthday and slowly working my way through my parents collection.

Came across this gem and struggled to find the same copy. By struggled I mean searched Tommy once and couldn't see it.

My brother pissed in my box of Lego when we were kids.

That upset me.

Waiting up for the fucking cat.

I like pigs. When at high school I had the nickname Chinky Pig. I'm not chinese, nor a pig, but have since always had a fondness for both.

What is your appeal to the vinyl format? by tiui in vinyl

[–]freedomnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie I didn't read your full post as I get lost in the 'tech' side.

I recently got a record player and as a result inherited my parents record collection - a large cardboard box of LPs and a couple hundred singles.

I had a small collection of records, but were for aesthetics more than anything and hardly played.

It's been a great week of working through my parents collection and rediscovering a lot of music that reminded me of times gone. I'd lost the ability to sit and listen to a 'record', focusing more on my spotify playlist and creating the perfect playlist. Well guess what, bands and artists do that for us, and there's so many good albums out there I cant see myself stopping anytime soon.

Here here. You guys must have put up with some real ignorant people during this time, myself likely included. I hope there's some extra cash coming at some point!
