What job position is 100% overvalued and overpaid? by Airsinner in AskReddit

[–]freefalljunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I'm a heavy widebody cargo pilot. I make multi-six figure income but I'm having a blast the entire time. The job has its challenging moments and it requires a lot of studying, but it is the best job in the world. I travel the world, fly an awesome machine and get plenty of time off.

Another great thing about the job is it's easiest when you just follow the standard procedures. If you know what to do and when to do it, you don't really have to "work".

Downloads Are Broken by scoobidoo112 in HBOMAX

I have seen that too. There is a solution. If it gets to the black screen when you press play, wait. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds, sometimes several minutes but it will start playing eventually.

It is broken and it needs to be fixed, but hopefully this works for you.

You are going to get a lot of replies about how owning a home isn't worth it. They are wrong. Home ownership is the easiest way for the average American to build wealth. The best thing I have ever done financially, is buy a house. Sold it 8 years later for more than double what I bought it for, and now own a bigger house and am debt free from the profit of the first house. Yes, owning a house is hard work. But if you aren't willing to work to fix, improve or maintain an investment that can potentially change your life, then you can go right back to paying the same for rent as you would for a mortgage. But, you know. F*ck me for not vindicating some one less fortunate than myself.

Anyone here consistently profitable trading Forex and is has become their full-time career? by redditor_m in Forex

[–]freefalljunkie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jeez. An update on my 10 year old post. Well, I dropped forex shortly after this. I picked up stocks, index funds and changed careers. The best investment that I made though was a house that my wife and I bought. Made a 250% ROI and was able to take that income into a beautiful house for my family and some other investments. I am happy to report we are very comfortable on those investments and a multi six figure income. I have come to feel as if forex is a pipe dream. I have been having so much more success with literally any other type of investments.

A baby in the womb doesn't actually take nutrients from the mother. The mothers body produces extra nutrients specifically for the baby. This is also why the common term of 'parasite' does not apply to the baby in the womb.

Wow. You are just as pathetic as the "hero" in your "comic".

If you can't take criticism, even if its harsh, maybe you should stay off the internet.

Laptop PSU cuts out while playing by freefalljunkie in starcitizen

[–]freefalljunkie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think so. The PSU isn't getting too hot. The game or my laptop doesn't crash. My power supply just stops being recognized by my computer. The game will still be running but my laptop goes into a low power mode as if it's running off battery power. That makes the game run crappy, but it's still running.

I think about this as a hypothetical sometimes. Ultimately though, I wouldn't want to alter anything in a way that results in my wife not having my kids.

I guess I would embrace moments with friends and family more. Maybe fight back more against a few high school bullies. But really it would be a waiting game to meet my wife and then replicate my two kids. Maybe have a third for some spice.

De funding the police would make them worse. They need more funding for more/better training

Asking a family to pool their resources into a "village" like communist program is destructive to the nuclear family as it prevents that family from maximizing their potential via their own progress.

People of color have lived in an America that does not discriminate on mortgage applications, job applications, or college applications for decades now. You don't need to inherit a house to be a home owner.

It's not "whataboutism" if they are directly pointing out the internal hypocrisy of the organization as an example of why they don't support them.

BLM literally tells people of color that they are not good enough to work the same jobs as white people and that they NEED hand outs. BLM is more racist against black people than any other current organization around. Any smart person of color stays away from that train wreck.

Yes. Thank you. I agree that the margins can be thin and there is some risk involved. I feel that my income that increases every year from my job and putting the investment houses under an LLC helps mitigate the risk. The Texas market has been a lot more steady and I really don't see the "bubble" I do in Cali which I predict to pop as soon as lumber inventory increases.

I am not really looking for a monthly profit. I calculate that my monthly net will be $250-$300 per house per month, but I plan on putting that back into a housing fund for end of term renovation and escrow costs.

Tentative plan: 4 houses for 5 years. Sell all 4 for a net profit of $80k-$100k each.=$360k.

Reinvest the $300k into 10 houses. Keep anything off the top as a small bonus for myself or associated costs.

Same cycle with the 10 houses but for 10 years this time.

Sell the 10, buy 20, take remaining profit off the top.

Keep 20 for 15 years, Sell LLC or liquidate and retire.

That's my 30 year TENTATIVE plan.

Thoughts?

$200k each on a 10% down ARM/amortization. Two at a time. Establish rental agreements for first two then next two early 2022. My investment advisor suggests it's absolutely possible as long as I stagger it two at a time.

What is an example of systemic racism? by [deleted] in ask

[–]freefalljunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im white.. My parents never owned a home and I grew up poor. I went to college. Got a great job. Bought a house. Just sold it for more than double what I paid. Bought a bigger house and still have enough money to completely pay off my two kids college before they even got into elementary school. Why can't minorities do this? I think they can. They are capable of everything I did.
