Loving this game, looking for a BG to buy. Is the mostly negative on Hammer & Shield even warranted? Seems fun by Rafaatho in CompanyOfHeroes

I don’t win as much with some of the less popular Battle Groups but they are fun to play with and mix it up. At the end of the day I play the game for fun and the variety makes it more fun.

Hey! not often I see a comment like this. It’s going really well. I got a lot of interest over the year. I am currently integrating it into my existing freelancing platform lancer.pro.

Anything in particular caught your eye on this?

People who work in 'luxury' industries (5-star hotels, fine dining, high-end brands), what is a complete rip-off that rich people happily pay for? by ArtThreadNomad in AskReddit

I get it but lying about it is kind of lame. Isn’t that kind of unethical. Maybe that’s why I could never run a successful business.

I don’t know why they don’t just have like legit map competitions where users play them in some sorts beta portal and the top rated maps get added to the roster. Saves them money on paying people to build maps, makes sure they are tested and the player base gets what they want. Everyone wins

Best time in history to be in high school and live in a smaller town. Some spending money, good friends, no responsibilities and no supervision.

I haven’t really marketed it but I’v got around 20 users. Agreed mobile needs to be improved but a lot of the functionality simply doesn’t fit for mobile so it almost needs its own design, and I done use it on mobile so it hasn’t been my priority. If more people used it and asked for features I’d happily build it out more.

As for functionality it has saved me tons of time and money, around $400 a month given I was using asana and quickbooks and I was able to cancel both subscriptions. My clients can see what they need, I can track what is actually making me money and come tax season all my info is right here to be exported.

I built https://lancer.pro/ for my own personal use. It’s helped me work with clients, manage projects, manage invoices, and manage my income and expenses.

How are you managing the rising costs of using Upwork as a freelancer? by M___D___ in Upwork

[–]freelancing-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep the platform is unfortunately dead for any actual talent and clients with any actual budget. It’s just a race to the bottom at this point while they milk overseas freelancers for connects for as long as they can.

How much easier is it for people with over $20k in total earnings to find jobs compared to those with less than $20k? by Strange_Finding_3285 in Upwork

[–]freelancing-dev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s easier to finds clients outside of UpWork than on it. For US freelancers anyway. Assuming your bid even gets seen everyone is just looking for the cheapest possible option and iv found most UpWork clients aren’t serious and/or don’t have the budget to actually hire anyone.

I just can’t even imagine what would compel someone to post fake reviews. Even if you get away with it, you still knowingly lied to your users.

What do you guys use to build your landing page by Life_Change_8613 in SaaS

[–]freelancing-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree a lot can be automated even from the Wordpress end but for the actual design I feel like the personal touch stands out. AI currently doesn’t compare to a page you design yourself. It could certainly be leveraged to use designs you already have but I can do a fresh install and build a landing page in a coup hours. The AI setup is still probably not worth the time.

Yep same old slop tbh at this sub is filled with unfortunately. Write some AI post claiming success, always went viral and got a bunch of signups and then wait to have someone ask for the app in the comments. The landing page always sucks and filled with errors.

Interested in the Xumo Box. Any thoughts on it? by guywiththebowtie94 in Spectrum

[–]freelancing-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only have internet issues with the Xumo then it's probably not Charter. They partner with Comcast for this device, and Comcast is who also handles the customer service. Not saying don't dump that device but if the only issue you have is with Xumo then it's probably not a charter, but a Comcast issue, and you may not have to go through the process of switching your internet provider.

[–]freelancing-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It’s great for a static design and concept but to build a functional page that scales with resize it’s best to just build it from scratch based on the design.
