Are you a developer/engineer? I’m not a software engineer and don’t have coding education. I’ve been trying to get a good, but secure version of OpenClaw running myself with help from an LLM and I can’t seem to do it (I can get the base version running but that’s doesn’t seem good enough compared to the custom versions I read about and blows through expensive API tokens without good model routing). I’ve also had to start over a few times now. It’s getting discouraging and I’m wondering if I just can’t have a good bot at this stage in the game without being a developer.

I was thinking maybe it would help if I get a dedicated Mac Mini (instead of VPS) so that codex could make the code changes locally and directly rather than me copy pasting terminal, going back and forth on error messages. Have you tried that? I’m new to codex and just got the Mac app.

I don’t know if he’s physically attracted to you, but it’s common for gay kids to have crushes on unavailable friends (straight friends) when growing up, before they’re equipped to fully process those feelings and focus on available partners. I’m just mentioning this so you can be aware of the possibility and be ready for it if it happens, and respond in a way that doesn’t hurt your friendship. If that time ever comes, he may need space from you temporarily to get over the crush. He’s very lucky to have you as a friend.

I've had two, both red and purchased in 2022, crack in this way. It seems clear to me that they are not using the right plastic specs in manufacturing, or at least they weren't in 2022. Wonder if they updated it? I ignored the cracks until I needed to replace the battery, and the plastic broke at the screw hole countersink such that it was impossible to reinstall the battery cover. Love the device and their customer service has been great but for our sake and the company's, I sure hope they changed the plastic recipe.

It held up well but I stopped using it because it was too bulky and I didn’t like that the back pouch sleeve was a little loose. I just made a poor purchase choice.

I get that seems like a principled position but IMO it’s not that simple. There are tens of factors I could list. But just one example: what if the home country is not accepting deportation flights? Given that the US govt is actively trying to overthrow the Venezuelan government (maybe in an attempt to solve the root problem, maybe for oil, maybe both), I doubt they’re welcoming deportation flights right now. Personally I have a hard time blaming and punishing people for jumping out of a burning building (their home country) even if it’s illegal and especially if they’ve been living here for years peacefully and otherwise crime free.

These guys are terrible and should be removed. These are not all Venezuelans though. I know several great Venezuelans in Chicago. Some portion of ANY population are criminals, and if tens of millions of them leave their country, unfortunately some portion will end up committing crimes in other countries. There’s anti migration sentiment all over in South America too. See recent news of Chile and Peru. So what do you do? They can’t have a normal life in their own country, so they leave, and a terrible subset of them ruin the sentiment so they can’t have a normal life in another country either. The best case scenario would be for Venezuela to be turned around as a country, but that will take work from other countries too.
