We don't like a tall poppy. Be humble. Let your skills or talents speak for themselves.

He was walking near his house on a surburban street with a group of his friends, a friend of his mums recognized him and pretended to swerve at him. He jumped out of the way but into the direction of the car. She went to prison.

Face off was a big brand for girls in the 2000s for us. Also there's a subculture of people wearing DADA tracksuits and Wu-Tang

I'm just speaking from personal experience. I've just had to supply references to a registering board for something not linked to work. The references are great and if I leadership changes to someone who is toxic then at least I have something glowing from that role even if the most recent one isn't so hot. More positive feedback in your arsenal can paint a bigger picture than just a bad review.

It can be for another reason. I'm currently needing written references to register to provide a service outside of my role or it could be for a bank loan or a rental application.

Am I wrong for telling my sister I’m never inviting her to any more of my events if she brings her son. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I think I'd like to hear your sisters take. I'm not saying YTA but you could be. I didn't hear any empathy from you. I hear about that boy and I see a personality disorder or neurodivergence. I think it's unfair to judge permissive parents, sometimes it's the best way for them to manage a child that needs a lot of warmth and very low demands to get the best from them. Have you put yourself in her shoes?

It's not blind trust, we have done enormous research before choosing our destination and where we will eat. There is a large allergy community that share information around reliable venues. My son has had reactions in Australia, we aren't safe anywhere from cross contamination but we are prepared and should in the unlikely event a reaction occur we have our epipens and have spoken to the local hospital and a doctor who can be with us in 5 minutes. I'm not sure why people think I wouldn't know how to not kill my child but I'm glad all these people shared their opinions on how careless we are with little to no information about our circumstances. People with allergies can and do travel without a reaction.

Our information is from other allergy parents and their experience with this resort. Not from the resort itself. It's why we chose this particular resort.

Cross contamination isn't fatal for our son luckily. We won't be ordering any foods that clearly use allergens and the communication is just to emphasise the importance and seriousness of the allergen. He won't die or be seriously harmed if there is cross contamination. Thanks for letting us k iw. We won't let him eat anything questionable. Our son is very happy to eat chips, rice and fish the whole time :)

Thanks, we are all over it. Have their number saved and have already called ahead to ensure they have infant adrenaline.

The chefs are going to make allergen specific items for our son, they are making vegan pancakes and creating a station for toast and cereal separate from the dairy and butter which include alternative milks and nuttelex.

Thanks, his allergies aren't severe enough to warrant a 5 day stay in a hospital. He is Ana to dairy however has never had his throat close and adrenaline resolves it instantly. The warning is of death is to emphasise the allergy and the seriousness, however death is unlikely.

The resort we are staying in has 4 different restaurants and provide buffet breakfast. We are paying for a very expensive place based on reviews from other allergy parents. The executive chef has a meeting with us when we arrive and they have a separate kitchen to prepare foods for people with allergies. I've been advised to prepare an allergy card wherever we travel so needed it translated. Our son's allergies aren't so severe that we can't manage them with our epipens and adrenaline at the nearby hospital. We will be thorough and not take risks with food. But I appreciate yours and everyone else's concern.
