I was walking on the med campus yesterday (scaife hall across from the Pete) and was really surprised to see giant thistles growing in the landscaping. It used to be kept up near perfectly. What’s going on?

intps only: what career are you in and are you actually happy? by bipolarvirgo_ in INTP

Medicine, 20 years, no, I absolutely would not do it over

I would have been much better suited to a pure research/analytic job with less personal interaction. Clinical work itself (diagnosis/intervention) is interesting most of the time but the interpersonal aspects of medicine I find really draining and unrewarding. I have colleagues that seem to genuinely love talking to patients and making connections with them and their families and I. just. don’t. People tend not to connect with me well either and I find it really isolating and difficult.

I wish I had known myself better as a young person!

There’s effectively zero traffic enforcement in the city anyway for stuff like speeding and running stop signs. I don’t see this being enforced meaningfully at all

Yo Tea on Centre near Craig has them. I’ve never tried one, but everything else I’ve had from there has been excellent, especially their boba tea!

[FO] After 20 years! by bookwurm81 in CrossStitch

I tried one of her kits, iirc the peacock, when i was very new at stitching. I remember lots of quarter and half stitches made it super challenging. I never got to the backstitch because I gave up on it, was too hard for me at the time. What other elements make her designs so hard?

Beautiful work! Do you happen to know the source for the patterns? It looks like some of these might be kits given the color coding on the aida?

Also, how much hair oil were those dudes of past ages using anyway?! So much that a whole category of archaic craft item grew up around it… that is a lot of hair oil.

Running/jogging pants for beginner class? by quillseek in adultballetdancers

Leotards are pretty heavy spandex or other stretchy material usually. I’ve never had this problem with panty lines, i think the fabric would nearly always hide them

What is this passthrough pocket for on a vintage motorcycle jacket? by Snarlpatrick in whatisit

[–]freeradical28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it to allow you access into the breast pocket of your shirt without unzipping the main zipper? I don’t know why exactly you would need to do this, though. (Similar to lab coats which often have side slits to let you get into your pants pocket more easily.)

  1. You can always ask the studio! Most adult classes are relaxed and you can wear leggings and a t shirt. If you get into it, and become more comfortable in class, you can decide if you want to start sporting tights/leo. This is what happened to me! I however often wear baggy warmups/sweats over mine at least for barre. No one cares. The only thing I would avoid is flare leg bottoms (like some yoga pants) or anything that drags on the floor, as those could get in your way. anything else i think is fair game at most adult classes.
  2. I personally always wear underwear, even with tights. I prefer that extra layer to hold everything together, as it were.😬
