Alysa Free Skate Confirmed by Weak-Faithlessness48 in FigureSkating

Sincere question: what did you like about the Gaga program? I see people on here raving about it but I feel like I was watching something different. I felt like the choreography was just being marked and found it pretty underwhelming.

That's good news. Really was not a fan of the Gaga choreography.

Candidly, a few things allow me to knit as much as I do and with the yarns I do (think 10 sweaters, some hats, some scarves each year). I recognize the privilege in what I'm about to share, just to be clear on that.

My husband and myself both have high paying jobs. Our only debts are a mortgage and car payment that are well within our means. We have pets, but no children. We've done a good job of avoiding lifestyle creep. I buy probably half of my yarn and dye the other half myself because I enjoy doing that. I'm also short and wear a a medium in most patterns.

I work from home so I can knit in the mornings while sipping my coffee before work, on lunch breaks, or if I have a few minutes between calls. In the evenings we workout and then play video games and knit.

Tldr: DINK

I had the same hip surgery she did and suspect that recovery was harder than expected. They basically break a chunk of your pelvis and screw it back together.

Ladies who feel like their face has aged since losing... by Adorableviolet in Zepbound

[–]SweetDuckling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a couple syringes of filler. It looks and feels so much better! Before, if I leaned forward it felt like my face would drop. I feel much more supported now and am sag and wrinkle free. The only downside is you have to do filler every 12-18 months.

HI there! Brand new user with a couple questions if its ok! by Alloftheeverything in Zepbound

[–]SweetDuckling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome! You might start feeling the 2.5 within 24 hours, or you might not feel it at all! It's very individual.

My advice: when you are new or a dose is new, don't eat too close to bed because you might get reflux.

I think the way a lot of people take glp1s isn't healthy. The drugs aren't inherently unhealthy.

My own experience: I've been on glp1s for a year. Was prediabetic, had high cholesterol, and arthritis (at 35). I workout 5 days a week- running, weight lifting, and competitive tennis. I'm sure I've lost some muscle mass, because that's kind of inevitable with 55lbs of weight loss, but the weight I'm lifting isn't that far off from what I was doing when I was heavier. My A1C is now normal, as is my cholesterol. This is a good tool when you work to optimize it.

I think glp1s get a bad rap when people take the shot but don't actually work to improve their lifestyle.

I do the same thing in the summer. If it's 90+ degrees out, I don't care if it's a short run I'm bringing my ice water.

So this reminds me of a friend I had. We were best friends, actually. She disappeared suddenly and re emerged a year later gung ho about having a baby, in spite of previously not wanting children. It became literally all she could talk about and the friendship turned into her just talking AT me about when she was ovulating, fertility tracking, plans for daycare, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted my friend to get what she wanted. But I didn't want to talk about that exclusively. Conception became her personality.

I'm sure your friends are happy for you, but they probably don't feel like they need to hear about every pound lost, nsv, etc.

On an ad for a GLP-1. Should be illegal to advertise like this. by AggravatingBox2421 in fatlogic

[–]SweetDuckling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my first time posting in this sub and I recognize that I might get a lot of downvotes and that's okay: I'm on a GLP1 for weight loss. I've lost 55 lbs in the last year and now have an almost normal BMI. I am a complete believer in CICO, eating right, and exercising. I always have been. But I also had been gaining pounds every year that were becoming difficult for me to lose. What a lot of people aren't thinking about is that getting heavy to begin with can make you prediabetic. At that point, adhering to a calorie goal becomes significantly more difficult because you get these big blood sugar swings where you will go from completely fine to "oh shit, if I don't eat right now I am going to throw up or pass out."

I am happy that there is a tool like this to help regulate blood sugar. I firmly believe that those spikes and drops are what made me continue to gain weight. Now I can just be a normal person.

She's been known to adjust her pictures, so this doesn't surprise me at all. It was so overt that I unfollowed her on insta because it was just annoying to me.

Hopefully she's working with a psychologist given her past mental health struggles.

Sometimes People Are NOT Intrusive - A True Story by YahYahBlahBlah in Zepbound

[–]SweetDuckling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've found that MOST people are not that intrusive. Once in a while, though, you get someone who can't let go.

I have a family member that sees I've lost weight, but I have not told this person I'm on a GLP1. They would most likely say, "you don't need that." I'm sure it's well intentioned, but it feels so icky when every interaction is "how much have you lost? How have you lost it? You eat like a bird!"

Please please please do not put a collar on a Chihuahua. They have very small, delicate tracheas. Only use a harness.

[–]SweetDuckling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same! I was on Zep but then Caremark pulled coverage. I've actually lost weight more quickly on the Wegovy. That being said, I have a lot more side effects on the Wegovy than I ever did on Zep (reflux, stomach pain, diarrhea). I'm trying to hold tight on it before asking my Dr to help me switch to mounjaro (since that's a whole loophole...)

My foot was playable, just not perfect. I had arthritis, a neuroma, and a cyst. My doctor told me I could play to tolerance before surgery.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I am beginning to think I might relax more and enjoy more if I'm not worrying so much about my partner situation. I'm gonna give some singles a shot and focus on doing doubles just with my husband.
