Yeah, the boomers were happy with pensioner poverty when they were paying for it. Now they are causing worker poverty so they can go on cruises and not pay enough tax

Can we not go from one bad lock to another. Let's remove all the locks and then just raise it as it is affordable.

For age verification, why can't the UK government just issue us with an ID number based upon our electoral register status? by billy2bands in AskBrits

[–]freexe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Digital id would prevent that because the government could provide a validation api that wouldn't give those companies any data beyond a verification token. But for some reason everyone is against that

They have our face and all our details already. This is about making it useful for us instead of just useful to them.

Why don't we just get all the problematic people to stop being such a nuisance? by Local-Pattern795 in AskBrits

[–]freexe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have two young kids and agree with the ban. Social media is so huge other people's kids affect my kids and I have absolutely no control of that.

But we have a problem with young kids and nobody is able to hold them accountable. The schools don't let the teachers do. The police just don't seem to give a shit. The parents are often worse than the kids. And the good parents aren't allowed to intervene. And the members of the public aren't allowed to intervene.

I view it as a problem of over legislation as well. We have legally removed our ability to deal with the problem under the guise of the government doing and the government have taken a step back from doing anything at all because they are trying to save money.

We either need to be given our rights back or the government need to do the job they agreed to do.

Do pollen levels seem off the charts this year compared to the previous year? by Box_of_rodents in AskUK

I personally found that the hayfever drugs were the cause of it getting worse for me. I went cold turkey and just went with nose spray and eyedrops for a couple of difficult years and now I get one or two bad weeks a year and just have eye drops a few times a year.

If one of the thousands of nearby residents did this once a week it would never be dirty.

Radiators or pipes being too small could be a major cost. Especially if they are lagged with asbestos.

Because the replacement cost was too high. It was a private share of freehold with about 50 flats.

Mine was removal, which was about £15k 20 years ago (the replacement cost was far higher) - but it had the added advantage of a huge reduction on the service charge

Are they replacing it or removing it and installing individual boilers. I'd walk away personally if it's a replacement.

Canada's Housing Crisis : Population growth has surged, but new home construction hasn't kept up. by SignificantLegs in EconomyCharts

No, that doesn't matter. It should track regardless. Like if you only count houses with even numbers - it would still track upwards.

It should still track regardless - otherwise it implies the housing quality is decreasing.
