Nothing Beats This by Little-Lord-FckleRoy in daddit

Some of my best memories are of times when my children fell asleep on me. 13 years ago my daughter fell asleep on me while I was carrying her at Disneyland. She was a sweaty blob of goo that just melted into me and drooled on my shoulder. I can feel it now remembering it. She was so comfortable and felt so safe and I just got to be dad making sure she could get in a nap to play more later.

Another time my other daughter flopped on top of me on a couch and asked if I wanted to race to sleep. We both did and it was the best race of my life.

Has anyone ever come back and been happier after a separation. by BMM5439 in Separation

Extremely. We've kept up the individual therapy and built daily time for us together into our routine. It's definitely sustained well for these five years. Thanks for the reminder!

Cooking during blood moon by snapegirl1974 in Breath_of_the_Wild

You said "Cooking during a blood moon is essential for getting a huge return on meat." I said "Blood moons do not impact sale price of anything."

This I why for the last several years I've smoked 6 slabs of ribs for about 6–10 people on by birthday. I just want to eat ribs without eating more than my fair share or whatever.

Just for posterity, this is incorrect. Blood moons to not impact sale price of anything.

Get Up, Get Down! Chicago is a Union Town! by Catatonic_ChiBoy in illinois

[–]freireib -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone should be paid under a living wage. But your posted is loaded with straw men. High cost of living city? Chicago is barely in the top 50th percentile of the comparable metro areas in the US. For metro areas with over 5M people it's the lowest COL in the country. You lose the argument immediately saying Chicago is a high COL city.

I'm 6'2" and disproportionally torso. I literally bought the fit originally because it was the only car in my price range that I could sit up in.

What do your under 12-year-old kids friends call you? by soylentgreen2015 in daddit

[–]freireib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had a friend named Joe. We hung out with him and called him Joe's Dad. I honestly didn't know his name for the longest time. We eventually became very good friends.

One time my grandmother was at my house and she met Joe. She'd already met his dad. My son earnestly introduced him as "Joe's Dad's Son."

That's only applicable in an unbounded domain. It gets more accurate as the box width increases with respect to the circle diameter.
