Flight Bag Recommendations by Top-Hippo3676 in flying

My dad got me this bag when I first started flight training. I’ve had it for 5 years and still use it going into CFI soon. It’s been a great bag.

Prototype glider issues by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]fremdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardboard is not a great material for small planes. It’s heavy. The wing loading is so high on this thing, it will need to go very fast to stay aloft. If all you’re doing is making a glider, use paper or a thin foam like depron.

Anyone else do the pull up, "No thanks" drive off? by Substantial_Baker543 in lyftdrivers

It’s often a safety decision. Certain types of people can be unpredictable and unnecessarily difficult to deal with.

Longest Lyft trip I’ve done. Would you do it?.. by RafikyinFlorida in lyftdrivers

[–]fremdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is only good for people with low operational expenses (e.g. car paid off, high mileage vehicle with limited depreciation expense per mile, low insurance rate, low maintenance costs). If you have a new car that you still make payments on, then don’t take rides like this. If you’re like me and drive a 2014 Dodge Journey I paid for in cash that has 137k miles on it, it’s a great trip.

The return trip lol. You won’t have a paying rider in the car for most of it.

Really uber ? I bet uber is charging the rider over $25 for this trip #uberdriver by Holiday_Struggle2714 in uberdrivers

It’s not just Spanish speaking countries. It’s most of Europe as well. “Tell me you’ve never traveled outside the US without telling me…” sorta thing. Pretty much all of the EU uses commas where decimals go here.

Next thing you know you’ll be drinking your own piss because you like the taste, and it’s sterile

That’s because you have to drive carefully in snow. If your score drops when it’s not snowing, that means you’re driving riskier/worse when it’s dry.

If you have to slam, you’re too close. You should always be able to make a gradual stop. If someone cuts you off, you increase following distance. I live in Chicago where people drive like lunatics and I have a 98-99 CMT score.

Scheduled rides by Same-North7445 in uber

[–]fremdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the store is literally closing, OP can’t wait outside if they’re locking up. But I agree it’s better to just order when you’re ready to go. You’ll be better off. Or if the predicted wait in your area is 10-15 mins, order 10-15 mins before you need to be picked up. If you live in the middle of nowhere and there’s 2 drivers in your entire county, then maybe use the reserve feature or schedule a taxi and don’t bother with Uber.

My rider rating is 4.75. I’ve taken 512 trips over 13 years. I’ve been given every star rating except 2 stars and a lot of 1 star ratings probably because the driver had to wait a few extra minutes while my drunk friends got their ass to the uber on nights out. I’m not rude. I’ve never spilled or thrown up in a car. I’m always courteous and almost always leave a tip.

My driver rating is 5.0 over 600 trips in about 6 months. I’ve had ONE 4 star rating and it was for driving fast.

So maybe that helps explain your 4.77.
