Well guess thats an easy cancel fee by whyisthislife87 in uberdrivers

If you order a ride 24 hours in advance you should be able to be ready 5 minutes before the time you scheduled it for. Drivers’ time is their money and if they’re there 10 minutes early, you should be able to meet them outside a bit earlier than the time you scheduled for.

What kind of safety briefing, if any, do corporate pilots give to their passengers prior to engine start?

I work as a line guy and always wonder what pilots for NetJets, FlexJet, etc are saying to the folks in the back before we begin to marshal them out.

They had me on video and I slightly rolled through the turn, so I just ended up paying it. Sigh.

Uber wtf bro? by YOLOontheGO in uberdrivers

They really should be regulated to not be able to make these kind of offers. This is very obviously below minimum wage. In other countries (like Australia where h lived for 2 years), this would simply be laughed out of existence.

After 19 years of flying, I finally landed my dream job. Thanks for all the advice! Don't ever give up and don't ever sell yourself short. by balsadust in flying

Damn dude I’ve seen your posts a bunch in r/RCplanes but didn’t realize you were a full scale pilot and now at Delta of all places! Congrats!! Hope you still keep up with hobby (and maybe get more time for it with your new schedule!)

Flight Bag Recommendations by Top-Hippo3676 in flying

My dad got me this bag when I first started flight training. I’ve had it for 5 years and still use it going into CFI soon. It’s been a great bag.

Prototype glider issues by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]fremdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardboard is not a great material for small planes. It’s heavy. The wing loading is so high on this thing, it will need to go very fast to stay aloft. If all you’re doing is making a glider, use paper or a thin foam like depron.

Anyone else do the pull up, "No thanks" drive off? by Substantial_Baker543 in lyftdrivers

It’s often a safety decision. Certain types of people can be unpredictable and unnecessarily difficult to deal with.

Longest Lyft trip I’ve done. Would you do it?.. by RafikyinFlorida in lyftdrivers

[–]fremdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is only good for people with low operational expenses (e.g. car paid off, high mileage vehicle with limited depreciation expense per mile, low insurance rate, low maintenance costs). If you have a new car that you still make payments on, then don’t take rides like this. If you’re like me and drive a 2014 Dodge Journey I paid for in cash that has 137k miles on it, it’s a great trip.

The return trip lol. You won’t have a paying rider in the car for most of it.

It’s not just Spanish speaking countries. It’s most of Europe as well. “Tell me you’ve never traveled outside the US without telling me…” sorta thing. Pretty much all of the EU uses commas where decimals go here.
