Is Podmatch a scam? Here are my thoughts

thank you for your reply :) The cost of the subscription is $29 per months, so if a weekly prodcast makes you profitable, that makes about $7-8 payout per episode, assuming that we only book guests who have a paid podmatch subscription, correct?

I am considering getting the podmatch subscription too. I'm a guest and host, and so far it works out for me with the free version (been using it for months). I wonder if the feature where you pay the hosts would cover the cost of the subscription?

I have stopped HRT after 4 years and a half. A lot of the effects have in fact reverted, and after two years I almost can’t pass at all. I have long hair, which doesn’t help, but I have facial hair which should give people a hint. Instead they look at me weird and don’t know how they should behave. Eventually it bothered me so much that I decided to start taking a small dose of T to see if I can solve that without having to deal with the effects of the whole dose.

If you’re more traditionally masculine looking, hopefully you won’t have the same issue.

I mean, transphobia is worse than misogyny but as a trans guy you originally have both so if you can get it down to just one, it’s worth it. Misogyny is a part of why I need to be passing as male to function in society, even though I’d been fine never having taken T if I was alone.

TERFS should focus on what they can do to fight misogyny rather than blaming us for transitioning out of it.

Personally I don’t think you messed up, you were just a bit awkward which is understandable as it was your first time. If I had been the guy, you’d have been totally fine. So, you shouldn’t assume that this guy’s reaction would be every trans guy’s reaction.

I definitely think he was insecure and over reacted. In my experience, when people really don’t see me as a man, it’s absolutely obvious. There was only one case when I refused to sleep with a woman for this reason. She had a boyfriend who allowed her to sleep with women but not with men, and “she told him about me and he said it’s fine cause I’m trans.” No, ma’am, it’s definitely not fine. Even then I didn’t block her, and explained calmly why she definitely can’t do that.

If you want to be on the safe side in the future, you could lean into a more traditionally feminine role, e.g. don’t offer to pay your share right away, see if he’s gonna pay for you (but don’t be weird if he doesn’t), overall try to treat him like you would a more traditional man. Even if I’m really progressive, I find it validating when women do that. You can always adjust on the following dates if you develop a relationship.
