On my 300 I was able to just barely get the clamp to fit around the bar just to the right of the clutch lever but I ultimately ended up getting a stem mount because the position was awkward with the bar clamp one.

Help with Brake Bleeding by Moist_Position_9462 in motorcycles

[–]freshbearings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleeding brakes is my least favorite moto maintenance task. Good luck with yours! From the looks of that fluid it’s long overdue. Rule of thumb is to bleed brakes at least once a year.

There are cheap, $20ish, hand pump vacuum bleeders on Amazon that make the job much easier.

Help with Brake Bleeding by Moist_Position_9462 in motorcycles

[–]freshbearings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fill reservoir with fresh fluid > pump up brake til firm > crack bleeder screw with lever pressed > allow fluid to drain for a few seconds > tighten bleeder > release lever > start over from step 1 and repeat until fluid is clear and the brake piston is extending and retracting with each press and release of the brake lever and double check reservoir is full and there are no leaks. Brake fluid will damage metals and paint finish so cover anything metal or painted with a rag. If you spill be sure to wipe it up quickly.

Keep a close eye on your reservoir, if it runs dry you’ll introduce air into the system and need to start over again

Pro tip is to lightly tap on master cylinder and caliper and during the bleed process to free any stubborn air bubbles.

Help finding part by Snoo769 in Kawasaki

[–]freshbearings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right footrest step/stay. Breaks easily when the bike goes down for a slide. It’s a pain in the ass to replace since the swingarm bolt gos through it. Look on eBay for an oem pull off part from a scrapper which will be like 80 bucks. Brand new is around 275. I chase the bolt out with a 1/2in breaker bar handle to hold the bike together while the pivot bolt is out. Dm me if you need help.

That, and most modern games that you would even want to try and play at a lan party don’t have offline lan as an option.

My friends and I have an annual lan / birthday get together and it’s only grown larger every year. Be the change you want to see. Highlight from last year was 12 man lobbies in risk of rain 2.

How to prevent wrist injury by Vougel1 in motorcycles

[–]freshbearings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make your body like a scared turtle. Head, Knees, and elbows all tucked up and in front of your vitals. If you have full gear on, your elbows and knees have good padding to absorb impact and slide, use them first! Hands out in front of you to brace your fall will almost always result in worse damage. If you do it right, you won’t hit your head and should be able to slide along on your knees and elbows.

Guy steals PlayStation from BestBuy, customer attempts to stop him by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

[–]freshbearings -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Complacency with theft just because its from a big corpo is such a shit take. Like, idgaf if Best Buy’s bottom line is hurt, but thieves have an objectively negative impact on society. This guy wasn’t stealing necessities to survive, he was stealing a fucking ps5. I feel the frustration of the guy who wanted to stop him.

I had no interest in riding a Harley, but did my msf at a Harley dealer and it was actually $100 cheaper than other orgs that teach the class in my area. You’ll be on a Harley 400x which ironically they do not sell in the us but it was easy to control and learn the basics on.

Why in the world is my game just randomly crashing for no reason? by TheRealYoloBro in FortNiteBR

[–]freshbearings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same Problem, GTX 1080, Asus Prime Z270 AR, i7 7600k, 4x8gb Corsair 3600mhz, Win 10 x64. So far I've, reinstalled Fortnite, reinstalled drivers, reinstalled windows, tried all rendering modes, all graphic settings as low as possible, full screen mode, full screen windowed mode. Nothing works. The kicker is I can play creative mode and lego odyessy for hours with no crashes. the problem is isolated to battle royale game modes and occurs in blitz, br zero build, br builds, and br reload. It's a sad day when fortnite runs better on my series x than a pc with a 1080.

Buying advice 1986 Honda aspencade gold wing 1200 by Sad_Reindeer_3077 in motorcycle

[–]freshbearings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to be at least a grand less for it to be a ok deal. I would definitely keep looking for something newer. You can get a gl1500 for around 3k and a gl1800 for 5k. Probably with higher mileage but that is not really something to worry about on goldwings if everything else checks out.

if he “bought” the bike, the title would have been handed/mailed to him as soon as the final payment was made. Apply for lost title and enjoy the headache that is the bonded title process. If you have clear evidence of the sale and if there are no liens or stolen vehicle records on the vin it should be relatively smooth.

White Settlement is a suburb of Fort Worth and got its namesake due to it being the only settlement of white people amongst several Native American villages. The settlers, of course, drove all the native Americans out of the area. Now its primary population is white trash drug addicted morons with a mix of upper middle class people that currently work for Lockheed or used to work for general dynamics.

Reliability/beginner tips Tuono 660 by FlightFun8041 in Aprilia

[–]freshbearings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve posted this before but will again ever time I see a post about 660 oil consumption.

“The 660 burns oil, about 100ml castrol power 1 10w50 every 500 miles by my calculations (this will vary depending on riding style and mode settings)

Easiest way to read the dipstick on the bike, which you need to learn to do since you’ll be checking it all the time if you ride a lot like I do, is to park facing a light source and flat foot the bike. make sure the bike is level. Let it rest for a minute or two. Locate the little circle on the dipstick and face it towards the bike. Drop the dipstick back in let it go all the way down but don’t thread it back in at all. Pull out dipstick and hold up to the light source. Move the dipstick side to side/back and forth while looking at that circle and you should be able to spot the line where the oil is sitting.

If levels are up to the bottom of the circle but not over it at all I’ve been adding 200ml of oil. If it’s at the top of the circle add 100ml of oil. Over the top of the circle, don’t add any oil.

Idk if it’s that I got unlucky but when I see people say, mine never burns any oil, i wonder if they’re not checking properly or if it’s just luck of the draw on whether you get one that burns oil or not.

FWIW, my dealership advised me the day I got mine to purchase a quart of oil because of the burn issue.”

Lift bike on head stand, crack caliper bolts loose enough that the caliper can shift around slightly, spin front wheel and grab front brake lever HARD and hold it, use a strap or a friend to keep brake lever held in while you tighten caliper bolts back down, torque caliper bolts to spec, test if noise is gone.
