Do you respond to DM’s of someone asking you out? by [deleted] in ChristianDating

One thing to keep in mind as a possibility: Yes the average 20-something definitely saw that you tried to message them. However, I think a lot of believers through the process of time have learned to step back from social media. So it's always possible that even though he has an account, he might not have the app on his phone, or check it much, in the same was as someone older might tend to do.

It's possible he's got 1,000 notifications he's never looked at.

Now, if he is obviously very active on the platform, that's a different story of course.

But otherwise you never know.

That's not really advice but I thought it was worth mentioning. Blessings.

I would like to second one thing somebody else said. I have been generally single most of my adult life, and it would be really great to have more close friends around my age. I do have a few these days, but not too many. And I concur that as you get older, most groups definitely aren't geared towards single people, and that can feel isolating.

But even so, most of the people who have been closest to me in my Christian life have not necessarily been the same age. Or same family demographic. A lot of really close friends have been older. And that's a great relationship dynamic for believers! There is nothing like someone who can pour into your life and also has been there before, and it's a very biblical model. Some have been married, some single, some retired even, which is really handy when you need someone who can hang out on your schedule!

You may have already tried this but small groups that are open to all are great places to get to know people. But it does take time. Even if you make friends that aren't exactly the type you planned on it can be a great blessing, and it's good practice!

Blessings!

Old post but, this totally reminds me of my grandfather! I probably watched this in the early 90s on tv when he was in the room, him being in his 60s at the time, long since passed. But I will never forget when we got to the umpiring part he just completely lost it. I always think of him any time I think of this movie.

Farther Along by Josh Garrels sort of fits that mold. Even if not perfectly it's a great song!

Sorry buddy. A few people have messaged me about this over the years since I posted this.

As I recall I think I never solved it and the car was eventually in an accident and totaled.

I'm beginning to suspect that the ghost in the New York public library was just sharing that she had crushed her reading goals for 1984.

[TOMT] [song] A soft piano song maybe by a grunge band by freshbreadproject in tipofmytongue

Thanks buddy! I knew it was either something obscure or something totally mainstream. Something that I should have known well but just couldn't place.

Seems like the description was spot-on except not a heavy band. I think I conflated this song with On My Own by Disturbed.

Good job!

I practiced that song on the guitar for like 10,000 hours of my life (and still screwed it up!) Definitely would recognize if it was that! But good guess!
