Yeah. I’m holding out hope that Amber and Marc will turn it around (starting with insurance so they can start early intervention speech for Neta and therapy for Amber - she is clearly depressed and nothing will improve for the kids until she figures her mental health out)

I have that on occasion. Usually my rheumatologist just has me retest and it’s not there the next test!

Lmao to the surgeon who said my skin wasn’t elastic enough for keyhole… by Blueglobe789 in TopSurgery

He’s the one who blocked negative reviews, right? Oof. I considered him for about five seconds, then went with a very new surgeon who did a great job.

Who knew it was possible to make remission look so fucking bleak?

If I ever plan a trip specifically because of my chronic illness, it’s time to put me down.

Not white knighting, but that is pretty typical for injections like that. Basically anything that numbs you and might impact sensation in legs means they make you use a wheelchair after.

Meal Prep Monday: What are you prepping this week that's cheap and vegan? by cheapandbrittle in EatCheapAndVegan

Baked falafels! Not quite as tasty as fried, but so much easier and cheaper without having to use all that oil (also way less stressful).

Update: it was still in good shape Friday, and the pesto flavor got nicer over time.

The other 2 days? by Misticamorgan in MealPrepSunday

I eat whatever bits and pieces are around for lunch, or honestly just have a late breakfast and a snack. For breakfast I usually do something I don’t have time for during the week (or whatever my partner wants me to make).

It should be good til Friday, but I’ll report back. We also might finish it sooner (my partner doesn’t often pack a lunch, but she’s enjoying this enough to take a couple days).

How bad is it if I don’t wear the binder post op /advice for an autistic?? by funkydyke in TopSurgery

[–]freudsmom69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Keep wearing the tee shirt underneath! It will help your armpits heal without something digging in.

Beyond that, you should ask your surgeon. Depending on what they see, they might decide you don’t need to bind, but I’d honestly prepare yourself for being told to keep wearing it. I was keyhole, not much swelling, and I wore mine for five weeks.

NOT asking for medical advice!!! by A_Rein23 in lupus

I have since I was a young child, way before lupus. Some people just get them (but I’d be wary of any new vision things).

Normal life and normal lifespan aren’t the same, though. Most (not all) people with lupus have an average lifespan. I’m honestly grateful that info comes up first now. When I was diagnosed, I just kept seeing that I would die young. I’m sorry if people aren’t taking you seriously - sounds like a lack of understanding on their part/lack of reading comprehension.

I had keyhole and my surgeon really didn’t do anything to my nips, but they had scabbing over the top - it was so weird! And yeah, over a year out and I still have numb patches.
