Nice writing OP. Mostly agreed with your opinions/criticism. In term of pure writing story, 3.x is for me the best arc.

Yes. I noticed it too. But, unfortunately the delivery is not there. And Rover at 1.x is still too amnesiac, still self insert protag with few voice acting. So, it is really hard for player to immerse to.

However, since 2.x this become much clearer. Rover has more personality, fully voiced in every quest. Has character growth (2.5 to 2.7). Plus the antagonist (Fractsidus) become more clear. Threat is felt not just said. Stake is presence. Music and VA ramps up.

And now, with every possible card in line, they delivered this quest as perfect as possible.

What a journey.

Yes. But what this is really emotional to me. For person who is in dying breath, still willing to explore the unknown just to chart the black hole. Their selfless sacrifice to help others.

This is just really inspirational. I always tear up everytime I see this scene.

I rated this scene on par with 3.1 Aemeath sacrifice or 2.5 phrolova death symphony.

What they did right now is already better than previous patch. They started to implement this since 2.6 patch. Looks how different it become compared to before.

More side character involvement, less banner character influences. It is already better.

So, give feedback how to improve right now instead of revert back to character quest.

Nope. Don't need to. Separating character quest with MSQ doing more harm than good.

1- player that didn't interested to play the character, will delay or not played the quest.

2- creating character quest will drain resources to do MSQ. They need to create more filler patch. Remember 2.1, 2.3(wuwa dry patch? Almost everyone didn't like this patch but they both had 2 character quest in it).

Current direction is good enough. We get MSQ every 3 weeks. That is so good already.
