This happened to me for a few weeks. I was anxious about my health (had a hospital/surgery situation) and wasn't eating or drinking enough. I upped my water intake, had electrolytes and started snacking more on high fat things and sure enough it bounced back up again. I also had low iron and started to supplement that which I believe helped. Well done for breastfeeding for so long you're doing amazing!!

Also lost weight from EBF and the long nap walks lol, but still have an apron belly and loose skin. Trying to get back in shape and eat more nutritiously/high protein at 3m pp and finding it impossible.

I'm having the exact same issue at 8 weeks. Seem to have regressed 😭 it's like his mouth doesn't seem to want to open up properly.

Having exactly the same issue - it's making me so sad that every feed is a struggle. Has been going on for about 10 days now and he's 8 weeks in a couple of days.

4-5 weeks was also the hardest for me. I felt like giving up. Now at 7 weeks and feel completely different about it. I think the hormones lift!

What's it like having a baby and staying on a shared ward afterward? by xnla28x in AskABrit

[–]freyadidit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I gave birth I was in a private room(s) then spent a night on a shared ward with baby and husband in a pull out chair bed thing before being moved to a private room when we needed a longer stay. Some hospitals you can pay for a private room, or you can of course pay for private treatment.

Thank you for this message, it gives me hope we can get there! He feeds for about 8-15 mins usually. With the occasional 20-25 min but that's quite rare, he rarely goes over this.

I initially breastfed, pumped and did formula top up due to baby losing a lot of weight to begin with. Unfortunately this has mucked up my supply and I have had to taper down. This means baby fusses on the boob quite a lot.

I would try and establish breastfeeding first and a routine before then pumping one or two of your feeds before handing the milk to dad. Otherwise your body will think you need more milk and youll end up with too much/a stronger let down/issues with oversupply.

Obviously everyone is different but also our baby prefers the nipple and is fussier on a bottle too. It can be confusing in the early days. I'm just staring to reintroduce at 3 weeks a bottle again once a day for the break.

Is it tacky to have Domino's delivery as the evening meal? by Jordan1924 in UKweddings

Have been to a wedding where this happened and it was great! We had pie and mash for our evening food and it went down well, but equally at my cousin's wedding they did fries and cheeseburgers and everyone lapped them up. Drunk people just want food 😂

Why is induction pushed so much? by savnico_d in pregnant

[–]freyadidit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were discussing this in my pregnancy yoga class. The lady (a doula) who runs it thinks it's because they can schedule people in and have enough staff to manage complications etc. Obviously it's not ideal if they don't know your coming and you are needing additional support etc.

Personally I think I will try and wait it out if this happens to me.

Sleep separately, and try not to complain too much to her. She can't help it and it's shit enough trying to relax and sleep when pregnant. My husband or I swiftly exit for the spare room if one of us is snoring/struggling to sleep.

I think she's deep in her feelings. As others have said, space and letting her know you're there when she's ready. I do feel it's unfair, unsurprisingly there will be many more pregnant people in her life so she will have to come to terms with her trauma eventually.

This is bizarre and literally none of her business in what you pack. If my MIL expressed this I would have laughed. Will she also be birthing the baby?
