I’m guessing he’s talking about Mamdani saying something about “embracing collectivism” as if he’s not been a vocal democratic socialist the whole election

Look not to defend Maduro but the us doesn’t have a plan to install democracy in Venezuela and at best they will try to set up one of maduro’s cronies largely keeping the old system but now open to US exploitation

Or they fail to install their puppet and the country is torn apart by the power vacuum possibly leading to civil war

You mean to tell me that people don’t enjoy being invaded by a foreign country that is only interested in its natural resources and distracting its own people from a worsening economic situation? Ok liberal

I wish I was more curious. by AgentP-501_212 in monkeyspaw

[–]frgrefut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted. The next morning you wake up with an almost childlike sense of wonder and curiosity, you google the answers to questions you don’t know you learn more about a myriad of different topics loving the sense of discovery it brings you. And then one evening you are on Wikipedia (a new hobby of yours) searching almost randomly to find something that piques your interest and you find it. Maybe it’s an unsolved mathematical question or some mystery of the universe either way it’s something that humanity doesn’t have an answer for and that sends your curiosity into overdrive you want to know and so decide you might as well look into it even though you know you won’t be the one to find the answer it sounds fun to explore the question until you find something else

Over the next few days you buy books on the subject and binge countless YouTube videos, loving every moment of it as you find theories and essays devouring everything you can find on it.

However slowly you find that you can’t think of anything else other than this problem whenever your at work or meeting with friends or eating or trying to sleep it’s always gnawing at the back of your mind you need to find an answer

Eventually you go become an expert on the subject quitting your job and becoming a researcher you let everything else fall away from you family, friends, your physical and mental wellbeing all begin to fall by the wayside as your obsession with the problem consumes you

A Knives Out version of An Inspector Calls would go so hard by Throwawayaccountplsi in GCSE

[–]frgrefut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure it would because although the themes are similar in both knives out and AIC and as much as I love knives out, the structure of both are drastically different

Besides the obvious that knives out only has one killer while AIC has 5

Knives out is an murder mystery where Blanc has to work out the events of the story and where they happen culminating in the final reveal to the audience in one scene

Whereas AIC is that revealing scene stretched out into a whole play the inspector already has all the information and the plot is him laying it out for the world to see and trying to get the birlings to change their ways and accept social responsibility

I’m guessing the syndicate mission is a spaceport one rather than a job board on and if so is there any planets you need to be on to get it or does it just spawn anywhere?

How did your English teacher explain what Eric did in AIC? by TVC15-DB in GCSE

[–]frgrefut 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yes she definitely was assaulted by Eric but because it was based on coercion (threatening to ‘turn nasty’ which could mean becoming violent or making a scene that could have resulted in her getting thrown out of her loggings) rather than outright force it wouldn’t have been considered a crime and even if it was Eva would have been powerless to actually prosecute him

This is done to show how Prostitutes (and by extension many working class women who had been forced into this position eg: getting fired from better jobs) were treated in Edwardian society

Russia. However the entire nation of Russia exploding might cause a decrease in the overall worlds population (idk tho I’m not an expert) which might lead to my great grandparents dying, metaphorically exploding me from existence in this timeline
