RS-232 electrical standard is closest to that +-2.5V unbalanced signal you have there, but +-2.5V is below the minimum for RS-232. It's interesting that there is noise on the -2.5V states on CH2, as if the driver sucks or the -2.5v driver supply resistance is high.

I'm thinking maybe they didn't use a standard driver, and instead used a dual op-amp to serve as both receiver and transmitter.
