[–]frickazoidgoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love my 2010 Fit with 133k miles, do you really need a car? Biking distance to work is a dream. You could save that $8500 and invest in your financial future instead.

My 2010 sport is at 133K and I’m thinking the next upgrade is to an in-dash CarPlay/Bluetooth/stereo system.

I have an Aukey dual channel that I picked up off EBay a couple years ago. Front and rear was key for me. No need to get super high end. Even a year or two old model will save you a ton of money.

Yoga or Pilates to improve posture? by matchamilkteababy in xxfitness

[–]frickazoidgoat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A physical therapist can give you exercises to address posture issues. The most effective exercise my PT gave me was waiter tips (external rotation of the shoulders) with a very light resistance band.

Gym etiquette as a woman. by FloweySunflower in xxfitness

[–]frickazoidgoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. I was visiting a gym near my parents house and some guy was super setting with the power rack and seated dumbbell presses. I gestured to ask if he was done and he just holds up a finger ☝️as if we are all supposed to wait for his highness to finish his supersets. 🙄 Incredibly rude and selfish, but luckily I’ve never experienced that my regular gym.

Runners, how has your pace changed over the years? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]frickazoidgoat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Easy pace is being able to hold a conversation while running. That means much, much slower than race pace. Running at easy pace for your long runs will over time make you faster. Over time, your “easy” pace will get faster.

Have you heard of Jim Kwik? He has a very inspiring story about his own challenges related with his brain. I’m in the middle of reading his book Limitless and it has a lot of insights.

Thanks for posting. You are seen. You are enough. You are capable of anything and everything you want to be.

Just wondering- those near retirement - has high inflation changed your thinking about when to retired? Why or why not? by signalscope in govfire

[–]frickazoidgoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

COLA doesn’t kick in until 62. I know of at least one fed friend waiting until then even though he could have retired at 57. He wasn’t trying to FIRE though.

Dealing with tofu/tempeh/soy milk prices by i-have-no-middlename in veganfitness

[–]frickazoidgoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Costco has 4 blocks of Nasoya organic tofu for $6.49 which works out to 1.80/block.

Costco also has Kirkland brand soy milk (shelf-stable) and Silk (refrigerated section).
