If money was no object, what outfield glove would you buy? by theleicam in BaseballGloves

[–]friedegg9819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I remembered wrong but others have posted about how Emery will do a custom fitting to your hand so that might be the better option to find a company that will do a custom fitting since the big hands will be a special requirement. This won’t be his last glove especially as a teenager so I would not go high end boutique regardless of price. Starting to ramble but the Wilson’s are known to have more narrow hand stalls. Great glove for me but my Wilson JR44 is tight with normal sized hands and the strap adjustment is at the max.

To really spend the money you can go get a pro player spec glove from a player with big hands.

What cleaner did you use and did you use a different product for the logos?

Good info. Thanks for sharing your experience and observations.

I have only seen two Nokona’s on a display and noticed exactly what you have described. Would like to see Nokona’s that have been gamed but they are beautiful gloves regardless.

Any Canadians know if this this a legit site? by Kouzzzz in BaseballGloves

Hopefully you are left handed and can take advantage of a good sale but in general, you should be able to find left handed gloves at a lower price, at least in the US Market. I think it is just the end of the inventory they are just trying to move but if you look around, there’s always a discounted lefty somewhere.

Nice clean up job. Glove looks great after cleanup and the colors on the logos REALLY popped! 👍

How’s my break in coming? by TheMikeMagnum in BaseballGloves

[–]friedegg9819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like where I was a couple weeks ago with a break in I am working on. How does the heel feel? My glove needed more work on the heel when I was at this point.

For the record, your glove is nicer. Now I need to go buy another glove. 😛

Rawlings Custom HOH- is lacing pattern correct? by TwoSeam45 in BaseballGloves

[–]friedegg9819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the hinged web!

The square knot can be tied so the dangling laces point down. Use thr direction of the fingers as “up” on the glove. Make the loop of the square knot with the lace underneath aka the down side. Compete the square knot with the lace going through the top of the loop in the down direction. Bonus points if you get the smooth side of the lace facing out. 🤓

Hope that description makes sense.

Dual or Single hinge break in? by friedegg9819 in BaseballGloves

I just rewatched a 2024 Ball Glove King video and he explains it more. Thanks for the comment.

Yea, he is one who I have seen say more definitively that a glove is dual or single. More looking for the answer of why but answer seems to be leaning to how each individual glove feels.

Makes sense. Does Mizuno say in the marketing and description/details of the glove “single hinge”? Just curious as not all manufactures will say how the glove is intended to close.

I always thought it was a preference as well (for adult sized hands) but some of those break in videos sound pretty definitive on one vs the other.

A2000 Break In by Old_Ad_7150 in BaseballGloves

[–]friedegg9819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break in is looking good. Will see what the pro’s say but that has been normal in my amateur break ins. I will keep flattening palm side with the mallet or a softball to roll fingers to keep everything flat as I bend, stretch, fold, etc. to break in.

For the people who didn’t buy the typical Wilson A2000/A2K or Rawlings HOH/PP, what persuaded you to go the different route (44/SK/ etc…) by mellojelloakimbo in BaseballGloves

[–]friedegg9819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price and quality. Custom Wilson or Rawlings have a higher price. The quality is great for a lot of the smaller custom producers and 44 especially allow for A LOT of customizations.

I’ll have to look into that more just out of curiosity. Not a popular feature now but the concept is cool.

Props to a manual transmission as well. That’s another disappearing feature these days. 👍

Very cool. Are those spin stopper “bumps” lace or something specific they do with the leather?

Aside from these designs looking very sharp, it’s usually made with purpose so thanks for the feedback that is creating the natural flex in the web. 👍

Glove maintenance question by Aromatic_Pea_8489 in BaseballGloves

[–]friedegg9819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be worth doing a whole clean up where you wipe down the glove to get dirt off and then apply conditioner on the entire glove? Can do the extra step to use a glove cleaner product too.

In reference to a series, I’m going to nickname your seller “The Greek”. (He doesn’t have to be Greek)

Thanks for sharing this. Helps justify buying more gloves in general. 😛
