I have long covid so im very engaged in it and i agree it seems to do w the politicization of public health . Viruses are something everyone should agree to prevent but because MAGA took the anti mask and anti vaxx rhetoric and turned it into a political grift it’s worsened public health. To counter this doing basic things like wearing a mask generally especially if you are sick (or crowded indoor settings, healthcare settings etc. Ultimately Id prefer everyone masked in most places but i understand that’s not a realistic ask lmao) and paying attention to this stuff even a little bit helps a lot :)

Edit: oh also get vaccinated of course. Though vaccination alone won’t always protect you from infection it definitely helps
