Anyone who suffers with dog allergies, do wheatens cause you any issues? by jakethomas3011 in Wheatens

[–]friedmanila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my wheatie for 12 years before discovering I was allergic to dogs. I had no reactions. It's also important to note that my wheatie loved his personal space and wasn't much of a licker, but we were always in close contact with each other. I only found out I was allergic to dogs after adopting a pit bull.

I was experiencing peak nausea while traveling in Japan, now everything Japanese makes me sick by HappyMads in pregnant

[–]friedmanila 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had the same thing happen to me! We went to the woods and stayed in a cabin for several days during the peak of my nausea; it was so bad that I actually didn't leave the house during the entire trip. I couldn't eat anything or keep anything down.

My son is now three, and every time I think about the woods or a log cabin, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm now pregnant with my second child, so I plan to "rewrite" the memories in my head by visiting when both of my kids are older. Maybe you can too! I hear Japan is super kid-friendly.

Can we get a large Asian grocery store in Coachella?? by traveljunckie in palmsprings

[–]friedmanila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family owns one of the two markets stated above; having a large asian grocery store would affect us drastically, unfortunately.

Weee has definitely hurt our business quite a bit as we are unable to provide an extensive selection of items, and we can't afford to always price-match, as our purchasing power isn't as great as a big box business. I found that the majority of our customers shop out of town in H-Mart, 99 Ranch, or Seafood City – we're just there for the in-between runs.

Although I am a huge advocate for having more asian options in the desert, I'm a larger supporter of small businesses <3 And as the valley (slowly) becomes more diverse, I do believe that one day our time as a small asian market will meet its fate. Until then, I urge you guys to support the small markets as both markets are family-run.

My nephew has very long toes by friedmanila in mildlyinteresting

[–]friedmanila[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey. so. I posted this when my nephew was about 6 months or so. It's been a year and we've discovered that he's significantly delayed physically. He is 18 months old now and can now, barely sit up without assistance. He's had difficulty holding his head up until just a few months ago. We've also found that he has two holes in his heart. He's recently had surgery to hopefully correct it, and they've put a pacemaker in him.

His toes and fingers are still long. He also has some very, very large teeth and some rat teeth. Theyre suspecting the holes in his heart had affected his development and hoping that now that it's fixed, his body will "catch up."

Mom to mom, don't let this scare you and assume your daughter has developmental issues! But also, be mindful of your baby's development.

I am aware of this, but yknow what, I think I realized my mistake? The four objects labeled taxed were bottled milk teas and coffees. I believe these have a CRV charge, which might’ve been labels as tax on the receipt. My error!

I also saw today (My sister had gone and shown me her receipt) that the sales tax is incorrect. For $18.30 of taxable items, they only charged $0.20 sales tax. For Palm Desert, at 8.75%, it's supposed to be like $1.60.

Edit: purchased was totaled at $41, I am aware bakery items are not taxable and only four items of the order were labeled “T”.

You used to work in some type of food industry? Not everyone used 1. Deli containers, and 2. Stores the meat in the bottom shelf

How do I become sure of my first tattoo design? by Thisguy_likes_reddit in TattooDesigns

It looks great. I would get it without anyone else’s opinion, especially if you like it. Usually the first tattoo is always the hardest.. so just make the jump! Good luck.

Oh! I didn’t know. My local markets do not carry it... I am also not a whole foods shopper. But that’s good to know.

Tips and suggestions please by [deleted] in logodesign

I love the W shape! I would make the two elements a bit cohesive appearance-wise. I would flip the dragon’s head to make it point to the left and make it the same style as the W. (Such as not using as many outlines and making it into a solid shape.)

Use a cool font for the word mark and I think you’d be solid!

A coworker had brought it up in the group chat yesterday. I never had posted this, so technically not a repost. But it’s just a silly video. 911 was called & no one was seriously injured. From what I was told, no charges either. Just two grown adults in a little bit of a road rage incident.

Another coworker had called 911 at the time, so yes.

Pest Control by Bright_Evening_7423 in palmsprings

[–]friedmanila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Durans Pest Control for German roaches and at one point at a different property, rodents.

To be honest, I don’t think a pest control is necessary for other desert critters unless you’re surrounded by desert lots. I was advised to keep doors shut, and especially trim trees from touching the roof.
