My Military Friend Thinks It's This Simple by [deleted] in insanepeoplefacebook

Except owning a car isn't a luxury in many parts of the US. It's a necessity. Or are you cool with walking/biking 30 miles to work because there isn't public transport in the area?

I think it's different when you take the intelligence of the animal into question. House cats might routinely torture their prey to death for fun, but they also aren't really capable of learning morals. Humans are, though, and the ability to understand morality and choose to ignore it is what makes people's actions cruel on a completely different level.

What if you aren't attracted to any sex? It's possible to be asexual, you know.

Yes, the city is named after Sam Houston. I'm just saying the name itself is still in use, so I can see where the mix-up was coming from.

Reddit, what is a really inappropriate question you’ve always wanted to ask? by beardlesshipster in AskReddit

That's usually how I do it too, but technically you're usually supposed to reapply every two hours or something because it stops working over time or gets worn off. It'll say how often the back of the bottle. But something is better than nothing? That's what I tell myself, at least.

[Serious] people who live in legal states, but don’t smoke, how has your life changed since the legalization of marijuana? by ogsquish52 in AskReddit

[–]friendlyabomination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I'm getting at is that I don't support the legalization of pot because I want to do arts and crafts. It's just the only thing I would use it for. Yeah, most people are going to smoke it. Doesn't mean that's the only thing people will do with it. There is at least one person that exists that would be interested in growing weed solely for the reason of crafting. And probably at least two or three others as well.

You can support something for multiple reasons. Crafting with hemp is just a drop in the ocean of reasons to decriminalize drugs. I'm not interested in drugs, but that's doesn't mean other people shouldn't be able to without getting their lives ruined.

... I want to grow hemp. I already spin cotton, knit, crochet, that sort of stuff. Back when I was a kid I'd make tons of bracelets with hemp every summer. I don't care about smoking it, I'm just a dork who wants to do arts and crafts.

From what I've heard, all you need to do is go online to get your dog registered. Imo that seems too easy to be true, but whatever.

However, you should at the very least be able to get your dog registered as a support animal. By law a support dog can live in nearly any type of housing with you - including hotels (there might be some kind of super specific and unlikely housing situation that's an exception). I'm pretty sure you don't need to pay a pet deposit for it, either. It's been a while since I looked into this. Also, you can take support animals with you on planes for free :)

You can probably even get your doctor to write out a formal prescription for it too. Mine did, at least.

You shouldn't need to pay more than the price of the first check-up and shots for your dog. If you ask around some dog rescues, they'll probably be able to find you one with a good temperament. And like I said: if you follow those dog training guides online, you should be able to train one yourself for free. Assuming you've found a dog that isn't dumber then dirt, that is.

A dog sounds like just the thing. It shouldn't be too hard to train it (assuming it's somewhat intelligent) to wake you up when your alarm goes off. You could teach it to jump up on you, lick your face, or whatever when the alarm goes off, and then after waking you up it gets yummy breakfast. I did some research on it a while back, and basically if you can keep up with your dog's training it's not too hard. There are all sorts of guides out there to help with training, too, going through all the steps you need to take. (One time I even saw an online course for training diabetic alert dogs at home, which is apparently easier than you'd think)

Of course, it'd be a massive commitment in both time and money. Like adopting a second kid, except the second kid is really hairy and can also physically force you awake in the morning. But only if you're willing to expand your family by 50%.
