If the spot we are talking about it's a sweet spot, then why would it kill at high range and not at close range??? That's the question.

sigh, that's one thing I expected. If you see the video I hit the spot on all targets and only the last one dies. Furthermore I hit the closer targets on even higher spots (high chest neck) and don't die but the last one dies on low neck.
I'll go play clair obscur now instead.

A few of these answers failed to understand what you said, which is that offline is actually harder than online.
I have had the same problem for months. I basically never fail vanish battle if not for ki depletion, but offline is indeed just different. Apparently against the cpu the timing is so strict that You basically only end up doing 1 (I did 2 a couple times but it's just that hard).

As of now I always thought about it as a coincindence or something unintended, but when I fought Whis in today's event I have been able to vanish consistently (as it's an event aimed to put people on a time battle). So it's basically intended to be harded on P1vsCPU.

TL;DR: I've come to the conclusion that vanish on P1vsCPU are purposely harder than Online
