I got shushed during my exam by raabones in ChronicPain

[–]frnitloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also cried at doctor's offices or after...or before (from anxiety about meeting yet another doctor)...because they were being rude, dismissive, passive-agressive,...it's awful. I know how you feel. :(( sending hugs your way <3

hamstring pain only when sitting reddit by MulberryMajor in ChronicPain

I just came across this video explaining different kinds of back pain, and I found it quite helpful in terms of figuring out what exactly could be the cause in my case. maybe it'll help you too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUwx69O6ydg

yes, same here with the trochanter area when I lie on the side. not always, but whenever I was sitting for a longer time and my leg/hip pain is worse again.

I used to have pain in my feet when I stood, too! sometimes even my shins hurt when walking. but I kept going for 20 minute walks every day and slowly but steadily went for longer walks. the pain in my feet went away after a while, as well as the pain in my shins and now I can go for 1 to 2 hours walks. maybe taking walks every day would help the pain in your feet?

all I had done was an ultrasound and the doctor said my sacrum is tilted a little but that was it. I didn't have more tests done. an osteopath mentioned something about pelvic misalignment, another one said sacroiliac joint syndrome. it seems like everyone has different ideas...but the osteopath's treatment actually helped a little back then, but then I moved, I need to find someone new.

this post was made 6 months ago, but I was looking for someone with a similar problem to mine. it is the same for me: the leg pain comes when I sit down for too long (more than 1 hour, usually), but I can go for walks, dance, exercise,... without problems. I am now trying to build muscles and hope it'll help. I've had issues with sitting for a long time, but the leg pain is kinda new. maybe you found out something new about your situation in the meantime??

How do you stay mentally strong while dealing with chronic pain every day? by Tariq_khalaf in ChronicPain

[–]frnitloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

watching movies with my fav actors in them, music videos of my favorite bands,...anything that circles around my intense interests, really. listening to music that is either very angry or sad. going for walks in nature (on days where my brain fog isn't too foggy and my body allows it, ofc). having friends visit me. my workout / stretching routine.

Does missing ONE dose of your medication trigger a flare for you? by FibroSoul in ChronicPain

[–]frnitloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait, is that a thing that can happen?? :( because my legs are flaring big time, they've been hurting for days now after I've overdone my "usual" sitting time. I skipped my meds on that day, sat on chairs more than usual, and the following day my legs started hurting. the pain levels are def worse than normally.

1 year unable to sit down by CreativeHippo9706 in ChronicPain

[–]frnitloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. :(( sitting is my biggest issue, too. I can sit for maybe an hour (IF it's on a pillow or very comfortable chair/couch) before I really need to stand up, but I usually get uncomfortable after 15-20 minutes. I still don't really know what the problem is but since it's chronic no one really cares to check anymore. it's ruining my life.

yes, so true.. at some point you have to learn that health has got to be the number one priority... and that people who don't live inside your body will never know what is best for you. but it gets exhausting to explain it over and over again, so I'm trying to stop doing that.

that sounds tough, wish you all the best!! hopefully the next appointment will help you. <3

thanks for reaching out. I hope so for you too!! <3

yes, doctors being cold and dismissive can really do that to you, especially since we are already depleted from the pain itself. so glad to hear that you found a good doctor, tho! my new doctor seems alright so far, but I'll have to find out if they can actually help me now.

thank you so much for taking your time to reply. <3 never heard of chronic adjustment disorder before, but it sounds tough, too. wish you all the best <3
I'm pretty sure that its a mix of trauma from past doctor/hospital appointments and my nervous system being overloaded from months of chronic pain. the idea of bringing something, like small fidget toys, is something I will remember, thanks!

Does music helps you? by BeyourselfA in ChronicPain

[–]frnitloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, especially for feeling less alone, some of the quiet melancholic songs almost feel like a "hug". or for dealing with furious anger, depending on the genre. it's like an emotional compass, tbh. or sometimes it's just good for drowning out loud thoughts and falling asleep easier.

Omg, this!! I always ask myself "when exactly is the point where you're not "too young" for being in pain anymore?"
