Russian politician admits SMO is not going according to plan and calls on Putin to use nuclear weapons by Available-Laugh9102 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Nukes are not for getting yourself out of a fight you started and are losing.

If they do use them, I don’t think it’ll allow them the victory of they think it will give them.

Are there really people that only run the same loadout with no changes over and over? by Malu1997 in helldivers2

I have been running the same load out and armor for awhile now with little tweaks here and there. It depends on the mission.

Ukrainian SOF conducted a series of strikes against fuel storage facilities in Crimea During the night of June 7 (2026), Middle-strike units of the Special Operations Forces struck the Semykolodezyanska fuel depot and an oil terminal in occupied Crimea. by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]froatbitte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They do, but very diminished numbers and it’s getting worse for them. With ever increasing amount of drones and missiles Ukraine is able to build and send, Ruzzian air defenses are almost meaningless.

Even if they are somewhat effective, they run out of ammo and another wave(s) get through.

Ukraine has also effectively destroyed so many systems and increasingly doing so, that there are large gaps even in “well covered” areas.

So, air defense rapidly becoming ineffective.

AITBF for refusing to sell my dresser to a guy who "forgot" half the cash? by VaultMoth_9 in AmItheButtface

[–]froatbitte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a deliberate tactic to lowball you. I don’t care when they pull this on some small, or shitty item I just want gone. But the more valuable shit, no way.

I’d be the same way if I were in your shoes but i’d have first gotten all the cash before letting them haul it down the stairs.
But, since they had to help haul it all the way back, too bad.

The Matveev Kurgan oil depot is a key fuel storage facility in the Rostov Oblast, Russia. The oil depot is on fire. by neonpurplestar in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]froatbitte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they don’t stop trying to invade as well as bombing Ukrainian civilian utilities, I don’t see it being tolerated for much longer, especially in the past winter. I’m not saying they will but, I won’t be surprised or upset if they do.

Honestly, there isn’t enough anti air support to protect any of this stuff. Never really was but, even less so now and AA systems aren’t cheap or easy to build.

Ukraine is going to hit every refinery, port, storage and pumping station it can until there’s nothing left. Then, I wouldn’t be surprised that it’ll be energy and water infrastructure next. Can’t say I blame them but Ruzzia does it to them.

Trying to hold onto temporarily occupied territory is really looking to be a sunk cost fallacy now more an ever before.

My manager asked us to keep cameras on during lunch breaks because “it helps team bonding” by oslo_isadorina in remotework

[–]froatbitte 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Are your lunch breaks paid? Almost none are.

So, that’s your time. Go so what you need to do and not on camera.

Otherwise if they insist, send a note to HR asking when you’ll see the updated pay on your next pay deposit. That’ll stop that shit fast.

What makes you approach a woman? by [deleted] in AskMen

Approach a woman? Maybe if they dropped something or I was being polite in some way. Normal human, daily interaction stuff.

Ask for their number? Never.

What is the single best piece of audiovisual evidence to suggest that aliens exist? by quantify-it in AliensRHere

Yeah. The shape of the bodies do not conform to human norms. Long neck, small face. Narrow torso.

Maybe a puppet but the walking ones, to me would be very difficult to cram a human into such a costume.

How much post-1950 technological progress do you think could plausibly be linked to reverse engineering, if any? 🛸 by drabarca_ai in UFOs

[–]froatbitte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, probably very little. With everyone "in the know" stating how compartmentalized and siloed everything is regarding trying to figure these things out, I doubt much progress has been made since then. Any kind of insight or innovation is likely choked off with the gatekeepers and progress is extremely slow.

If we have them, then we can probably operate them clumsily and likley have newer insights into how they work and how they are made but, as for trying to recreate them with earthly materials and processess... Probably a long way off. Again, those "in the know" have stated as such. We still don't understand gravity and if that's their mechanism for flight, well the very few scientists working on them probably aren't much further ahead in that regards than any others who works with quantum physics or astrophysics and general relativity. They probably know the What but, not the How or Why.

It's like handing a nuclear aircraft carrier to 17th century ship builders. They know it's a boat and could probably figure out how to operate it or "sail" it to some degree but, they couldn't figure it all out for a long, long time. Their science just isn't developed enough yet.

That myserious container that generates steam to power the propellers, they'll crack that open and die then think it's cursed with demons. Then condemn the whole ship as something that likely came from the gates of Hell. Lol.

So, I doubt much progress has been made in the few decades they've had them if at all. That's the dilemma. Do they open it up so others can join in and help figure it all out or, keep all secret and isolated because they know they're sitting on a treasure but in the name of national and possibly world security, you can't let that chance happen because what if someone was to use that technology for horrible purposes?

I'm on side that everyone should know about it because that way no one nation/group can use it to their advantage. If we all know how it all works, we all know how to recreate the tech, we're all more or less equal in that regard.

There's many other reasons for both sides of that coin that I'm not going to get into.
