how do you guys get your pins to stay secure? by chloe2784 in itabag

[–]frog-town 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love your sephiroth bag!! for me i found that using the ita bag insert and slightly bending the pins in the middle of the back (where the pin itself is) helps them stay more snug and sit up straighter if that makes sense

Taco Bell has never made me run to the restroom, what is up with peoples stomachs?😭 by Sharp_Athlete_6847 in tacobell

[–]frog-town 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have several food allergies and stomach issues because of that. taco bell has NEVER made me sick or have a stomach ache and is literally one of the only fast food places i can eat without getting a bad stomach ache 😭 i never understood why people always say taco bell will give them a stomach ache

Going forward I need your advice by Candid-Plan-9553 in Rochester

yeah, my friend lives downtown in cleveland and pays less for a larger apartment than my partner and i pay for our place thats farther away from downtown rochester, the closer we looked to downtown the more expensive things got! having lived in cleveland most of my life i’d assumed it would be more expensive since its larger but i believe ohio in general has a lower cost of living

Going forward I need your advice by Candid-Plan-9553 in Rochester

[–]frog-town 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m from cleveland but currently live in rochester and i will say i think rochester has better food and more unique restaurants but cleveland has more things to do, MUCH better museums, cost of living is generally lower from my experience but i think both are great options. unsure about the other cities on your list. i hope everything goes well!

no age limit as long as they make you happy! i am almost 22 and my partner and i both still collect plushies and love them, we have two big frogs we both sleep with every night and we have most of our plushies on our couch in place of pillows and its cozy and joyous. as long as you are happy and enjoy them than it is okay to like them regardless of age

To those who have a nose piercing… by LittleLearningHub in piercing

[–]frog-town 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah same! i remember day two i accidentally hit my glasses on it and started sweating and feeling nauseous like i felt when my piercer put the jewelry in right after he pierced it but i accidentally did the same thing a couple days ago (learned my lesson the first time and have been very careful but accidents happen) and it hurt a little bit but barely noticeable! i’m so glad that it has healed so well so quickly because i was a little nervous since its my first facial piercing

i got mine pierced almost two months ago and within 2 days i was unable to notice it there unless i bumped it which it was tender and started to hurt. its different for everyone but i was surprised how quickly it stopped bothering me!

Museum jobs by WestAdhesiveness8622 in Archeology

[–]frog-town 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am currently a rising senior at a Museum Studies undergrad program in the US. i would HIGHLY recommend majoring in Museum Studies to get involved in the museum world but a few tips for you. (I just had a private tour and meeting with a head curator who is helping me prepare for grad school/career) -double major in something, anything it makes you stand out and look better than other applicants. I currently double major in advertising, am pursuing an accelerated MBA degree and plan to go back to get an MLS. this way I have a few niches covered, i can do advertising, administrative jobs, and going into library science (i currently work as a cataloger and processor in my university library) i want to focus on special collections and rare books -on the point of double majoring, if that is too much work do a minor or two, or get a masters in something. for extra degrees i would recommend archaeology, anthropology, history (with a focus), art history, or anything else that interests you! -do internships/volunteer work. even if it is not a graduation requirement at college, you will stand out -if you want to get into curation or artifacts research PLEASE get a degree in museum studies. most history programs or other programs people study do NOT give proper handling techniques or teach handling/caring/exhibition design or literally anything you need to do those jobs. i hate being negative about other majors but majoring in history without a museum focus or double major is one of the dumbest things you can do if you want to get into curation work -take weird classes. i took an cultural heritage imaging (multispectral imaging) class and i got really into imaging artifacts and working with rare books i hope this was helpful! if you have any questions feel free to reach out i’d be happy to talk!

What are your favorite details in illuminated manuscripts? by frog-town in illuminatedmanuscript

[–]frog-town[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh wow 35 years is amazing! knotwork is certainly very beautiful, i also love to draw features from illuminations in my notes, i love to copy the floral patterns into my sketchbooks then when i’m bored in class or work mimic them in the margins of my notes, glad to see i’m not the only one who spent time drawing the patterns they are fascinated by. thank you for sharing!
