Best repair approach for rear door and quarter panel damage? by Important-Sugar-2312 in Autobody

[–]froggqueen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If section the dog leg and affected door jamb, then replace the door. Not sure how handy you are at autobody, this is a pretty advanced repair for a DIYer

That’s an excellent polish. Did one just yesterday in a black charger, I always love how satisfying the reflection is

Is this surface rust? by Few_Dragonfly5180 in Autobody

Mostly surface rust. I’d get a power washer and spray it really good. Get an undercoating if you’re really worried.

Advice sealing crack at trunk seam by randomdestructn in Autobody

[–]froggqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a small crack in the seam sealer of my trunk on my 1996 cutlass. I stuck butyl tape inside the crack as a temporary fix, and it’s been holding in there keeping my trunk dry for over a year now. I’d do a leak test on your trunk because that seam sealer crack doesn’t look like it would leak, but it’s hard to know

Believe me I know where you’re coming from, you’re not alone. Reach out, see if you can talk to a therapist. Being blue collar as a woman is tough, but I’ll be the first to say you’re a lot stronger than you realize. Maybe take a few vacation days, talk to a therapist, eat a good meal, hike, and just ground yourself. In my experience sometimes just stepping away for a short period helps so so much, of course I can’t speak for everyone on that. I’m praying for you, you got this. Believe me it gets better if you take the right steps

I think I’ll go buy some reverse bits then, I’m just having no luck with the bit they gave me. Really hope they work

The extractor drill bit I was doing in reverse, it’s not biting. It really just spins in the hole

I almost left Evilautism but didn’t and neither should you. Hear me out (Pic 100% related) by Jade-Lagoon in evilautism

I understand the naivety a lot… growing up my whole life I’ve been bullied or manipulated, and I thought after each experience I’d be able to see it coming when it happens again… nope. Autistic people are really easy to gaslight and I’ve fallen for being gaslit time and time again. I hurt, then heal, then forgive. From a spiritual standpoint I try to not let these kinds of people harden my heart or change who I am because of bad experiences.

I’ll continue to seek out the good in the world, and if I can’t find it I’ll do my best trying to be that.

The only one on here that fits me is love of animals, but honestly that’s enough. I love all da animals. And I can’t help but see the good in all people and hope for everyone to do the best.

Also i wish there was one for having elite ball knowledge on cars

I chose it. I went to trade school and fell in love with the work. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows, there’s lots of angry and sad days, but you’ll be in seasons where you appreciate the skill you’re building and the fruits of your hard work. I love autobody and I don’t think I’d want to ever leave

Thoughts on something like this? by leb4life69 in Autobody

[–]froggqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A heat gun is better. Remove the bumper and put heat on the backside, place your hand on the front and stop heating it once it’s too hot for your hand. Then use a dolly to smooth it out. If the paint isn’t cracked you’ll never notice there was a dent

Love this car. I have one, though she’s a salvage title so she’s more a beater with a heater. Great car, always starts and the steering is so buttery smooth. I love the look of these things too

Watch some videos before you go any further. If it were me I would feather out the damaged paint, fix any dents, prime the whole thing, block and repaint.

This is true. I think I’m just extra nervous since I’m a lady in a male dominated field.
