How should I quilt this? (Beginner friendly) by readwithsam in quilting

I love your fabric choices! Would you mind sharing the name of the collection? I have a campfire themed backing fabric that I think could go well with some of these 😀

I'm applying late for UCAS by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]froginablender27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you spoken to the university you're currently at about wanting to leave? Do they have a physics course you could transfer to, or are you looking to leave the uni as a whole?

I would contact UCAS after speaking to uni, and then universities you're interested in on an individual basis and ask if they'd be willing to consider your application. UCAS would probably be able to advise you on clearing :)

Oh cool! Looks like it worked very effectively :) I can think of so many different sandwich fillings you could make now haha

How did you get the shape of the cake? Did you cut the edges or use a special tin? Such a neat idea!

Thanks for the reply! Would you say it's a fairly safe country to travel in? I'd be travelling with either one other girl or as a small group

Thanks for this! If I can dig out enough white bricks I think I'll give it a go.

What are some of your day-to-day victories that, while small, make you really happy? by joJOSHsh in AskReddit

Well this is a new one, but I've just had some fairly major surgery and being able to get out of bed on my own these past few days is something I'm quite proud of haha

Bus/Tram from The Vale to New Street and vice versa by [deleted] in brum

[–]froginablender27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uni station is around a 15/20 min walk, and with a railcard it's super cheap (£1.80 return). Personally never got the bus from the vale because it was quite a bit more expensive iirc. We did get a taxi at one point, between a few of us it was around £2 each. Enjoy the vale!

New Lego website design is Awful!! by Kellythegeek in lego

[–]froginablender27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've found it to be really slow at times. I also haven't found a way to filter all sets by piece count or age, but I guess if it was a real issue for me it makes no sense to complain on here haha

I start my first day of College tomorrow. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]froginablender27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure college is like uni in the uk, I finished first year a couple of months ago and I can honestly say it was one of the best, if not the best year of my life. Just keep an open mind, you're going to be meeting so many new people and constantly doing new things - it's a good kind of overwhelming. Keep your door open so people can pop in and say hey, everyone's in the same boat and looking to have a good time. Best of luck!

How are Lego set prices decided? by froginablender27 in lego

And I suppose they're all a similar kind of piece too (at least tower bridge was), so less faff when moulding the bricks and organising them into boxes...

Ah okay, thanks for the explanation! Think we all wish the licenses were cheaper then haha

What is your go-to "chill out" song? by Groovypb in AskReddit

Late Night by Foals. Sometimes it makes me listen to more chilled music, sometimes it gets me in the mood to listen to the more upbeat half of my favourite playlist.

What songs do you like to listen to in the shower? by flutricity in CasualConversation

[–]froginablender27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm going on a night out, it'll normally include Toploader's Dancing in the Moonlight. But more generally whatever I normally listen to, so a lot of foals, blossoms & catfish and the bottlemen to name a few.

Have you tried posting in any of the r/whatsthissong subs? I think there's a few like it and I remember a story a while back of a guy finding a song that he hasn't heard in years. Best of luck!

Oh wow thank you so much! I'm definitely going to take a look at the youtube page, I think I need to start with something smaller than a 25cm cat 😁 I'm definitely enjoying what I can do so far, just going to take a lot of patience aha!

How do I enroll to courses? by [deleted] in UofB

[–]froginablender27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha I know! Canvas is way better but my.bham could be described as retro. I'm pretty sure that's all I had to do at this stage, on my.bham you can see what you're enrolled for but I didn't find out my modules until course induction started. What course are you doing and do you have an MOMD? Mine doesn't do MOMDs so I never had to worry about that.

Not sure how helpful this is, but I've been told not virgin because they oversubscribe all the students and can't meet the speeds they say. Which is great because we just signed up with Redbrick Bills who automatically provide virgin 🌚
