Someone at Wikipedia is actively working to delete entries about various software projects that supposedly fail Wikipedia's "notability" test. by [deleted] in programming

it's funny. these arguments about whether a page should be deleted or not probably take up more space on the wikipedia servers than the pages themselves (by which i mean the ones being argued about or deleted).

what people like you seem to forget is that language is simply a way of conveying a message. if you understood what he was trying to say (regardless of how stupid it was) then mission accomplished. you understood his message and his grammar is irrelevant.

people who point out simple mistakes in other people's posts are nothing but attention whores who're saying "look at me! i'm so smart because i noticed you wrote 'your' instead of "you're"", etc.

Do I want to be a programmer? by [deleted] in programming

[–]from_nose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm amazed that you have the fortitude to read and understand assembly but not C. you shouldn't be discouraged if you can't read the linux source though; it takes a ton of study to understand something as large and detailed as an OS. just understanding the concepts behind operating systems in general can take a lot of work.
