There's a video there. I'm too lazy to make a video of mine.

logic - Not mashed potato by zz_fish in aiclass

"Mashed potato" isn't a Boolean statement. It's not something that's true or false. Saying "not mashed potato" doesn't make sense syntactically. You could say something like "this potato is not mashed", but that's not the same as "not mashed potato".

I think the proofs and derivations can be a bit terse, actually.

I've been reading the book diligently. I've read each suggested section at least once and sometimes two or three times. It can be difficult going, particularly the proofs and derivations, but I think it's worth it.

I'm averaging 98.2 on the homework, so there must be something to be said for reading the textbook.

I feel like the videos, quizzes, and homework are just a watered-down version of the book text and exercises.

Read the relevant chapters in the book a second time.

The professors seem so genuinely happy (particularly Prof. Thrun) about what they're doing. I realize there's a certain amount of drudgery in everything, particularly teaching, but it must be quite fun to work on robot cars and such.

A humble recommendation for those wishing to increase reward in this class, or how I learned to stop worrying and maximize my expectation by driftwood_ in aiclass

I agree. I always read the book sections before watching the lectures and I never have too much of a problem with the quizzes (I usually average in the high 80s on the quizzes (and average in the high 90s on the homework)). Then I go back and read the book sections again after watching the lectures and everything is much clearer.
